The Role - Senior Finance Manager, Hill’s ANZ
The Senior Finance Manager is a pivotal strategic finance leader responsible for setting the vision, direction, and oversight of the annual budget, latest estimates (LE), and long-range financial planning for Hill's ANZ. The role also oversees the Commercial Finance team providing support on the company’s overall commercial strategy, including Pricing & Margin analysis, Trade Spend management and Risk & Opportunity identification. This role partners closely with the Finance Leader, Commercial team as well as Global teams to drive profitable growth, ensure financial forecast accuracy, and lead the continuous improvement and strategic enhancement of all planning processes.
This position is a hybrid based role in the Sydney CBD office and is a great opportunity within a global organisation.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Leadership

Lead the Strategic Financial Planning Process: Own the long-range financial planning process, translating business strategy into financial targets and resource allocation.

Oversight of Budget & LE Cycle: Provide strategic direction and final review for the development, consolidation, and presentation of the annual budget (BUD) and latest estimates (LE) prepared by the direct report.

Key Stakeholder Partnering: Act as the primary financial partner to the ANZ Commercial Leadership Team, providing financial analysis, insights, and scenario planning to influence major business decisions and investment strategies, including partnering on Revenue Growth Management (RGM) plans.

Process Transformation: Lead initiatives to leverage finance technology tools and best practices to fundamentally transform and simplify the planning processes, improving efficiency, accuracy, and strategic alignment.
People Management and Development

Manage and Mentor: Directly manage and develop the Finance team, providing clear objectives, performance feedback, and coaching to build a high-performing team.

Resource Allocation: Ensure optimal allocation of the team’s time and resources to strategic priorities and compliance requirements.
Financial Analysis and Reporting

P&L Performance Ownership: Own the delivery of Net sales, Margin & NPAT through the monthly discipline process & cross functional partnership, including early identification of issues and opportunities.

Strategic Exhibit Review: Review and approve budget/LE exhibits and final reporting packages for review with the Finance Leader and General Manager.

Deep Dive Analysis: Oversee complex financial analyses, including margin analysis, Non-Variable Overhead (NVO) strategy, and A&P spend effectiveness, ensuring key drivers, risks, and opportunities are clearly articulated to senior management.

Integration with Global & CDT: Oversee the coordination with the global Hill's team for central costs and strategic alignment, and with CDT Finance for critical volume, mix, and pricing analysis components.
Month End & Compliance Oversight

Financial Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and monthly rolling estimates (MREs) by overseeing the Month End preparation activities and reporting performed by the team.

Compliance: Oversee SOX and internal control compliance for all budgeting and planning processes.

Audit: Coordinate and own external audit deliverables.

Ad-Hoc Projects: Lead complex, ad-hoc financial projects and deep-dive analysis as required by senior leadership.
What you’ll need
-
A relevant degree in Accounting or Finance.

CPA or Chartered Accountants (CA) membership is required.

Have at least 7+ years experience in a commercial finance position, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or people management role.

Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement within an FMCG organization is essential.

Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions at a senior level.
Preferred requirements

MBA or other advanced business qualification.

Expert proficiency with financial systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced data analytics tools.

Experience managing or overseeing a direct report.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-finance audiences.
