Job Summary:

This role will support CP Skin Health in the development and maintenance of Company’s products to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance with applicable laws and regulations for Skin Health products in China. This role manages all regulatory activities required to maintain and grow the EltaMD and PCA Skin brands and provides guidance and support services as needed to other CP Skin Health (CP SH) brands doing business in China, such as Filorga. This position is responsible for developing and implementing regulatory strategies for new and existing products, with emphasis on cosmetics. The position reports to the Director, Regulatory Affairs - Global Skin Health. The position is located in Shanghai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cosmetic product regulations, especially NPMA requirements for cosmetic product registration.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Obtain, amend and maintain product licenses to ensure compliance. Oversee commitments and outstanding questions or issues with regulatory authorities to maintain regulatory approvals. 

  2. Develop and influence the regulatory strategy for the company’s product pipeline: formulate strategies to accelerate review and to gain approval of company’s products and transform the strategies into executable plans.

  3. Lead day-to-day Regulatory Affairs activities by directly or indirectly managing internal individual contributors and/or managing third-party vendors and registration agencies to ensure timely project execution according to agreed project strategies and timelines. 

  4. Work with cross-functional partners to assure raw materials, formulas and artwork meet regulatory requirements, including restrictions on label claims. 

  5. Monitor changes to standards and regulations and develop plans to ensure products and processes are up-to-date on all business-relevant regulatory requirements. 

  6. Identify improvements to Regulatory systems and processes; manage the creation, review and revision of procedures to ensure continuous improvement. 

  7. Understand current and proposed policies, regulations and requirements, and maintain a relationship with health authorities such as the local FDA.

  8. Develop and deliver training to other departments, such as Marketing and R&D, on relevant laws and policies of cosmetics supervision.



  • A University degree is required; a degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Medicine or a related field is preferred

  • 7+ years of product registration experience and demonstrated knowledge of the entire cosmetic registration process

  • Strong knowledge of China CSAR regulations and the technical standards that apply to cosmetics

  • Good English language skills, including written and oral communication skills

  • Project management and strong organizational skills

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently

  • Strong attention to detail

  • A results-oriented team player with ability to lead multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written and oral), interpersonal and negotiating skills
