Title: Senior Analyst, Business Analytics
Job Summary:
The candidate will support the Colgate Business Teams in Finance Analytics and Insights functions across the globe. The role requires a person to have understanding of majorly Internal & somewhat external data and ability to provide Insights based Services & solutions.
The Person should have abilities to build insights from large Internal datasets. An Analytical problem solver with focus on Business Intelligence and Insights. Ability to work in a collaborative and stakeholder focused (proactive and Responsive to Business needs) . Excellent Written and verbal communication skills.
Main Responsibilities:
- Explores novel data sources and proactively identifies high-value data sources (both, internal and external) aligned and needed for the team’s use cases and strategy. Develop technical strategies for data acquisition, storage, and governance.
- Provides clean, transformed data ready for analysis
- Applies software engineering best practices to analytics code (version control, testing, continuous integration,...)
- Maintains data documentation & definitions
- Supports Data Scientist and Data Analyst by applying transformations for ML models on datasets
- Partners with Data Engineers to implement and establish the right data and systems for Finance Analytics
- Assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
- You will work on data initiatives and ensure efficient data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
- Work with data and analytics colleagues and partners to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc
- Build and maintain efficient data pipeline architecture in cloud environment
- Stay abreast of current best-practices in the data engineering community and promote best-practices within CP
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, Graduate degree in Computer Science/ Technology/ Engineering/ Mathematics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
- 2-3+ years of experience working on data pipeline
- Working knowledge of Google Big Query, Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake, Airflow, GitHub (Either), Iceberg, Spark, or cloud-based analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of Programming languages Python, R, SQL(SQL mandatory)
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel / Google Sheet (i.e., standard functions – aggregation, pivots, look ups, etc.)
- High level of proficiency with SQL working with relational databases, query authoring as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and find opportunities for improvement
- High level of comfort with large sets of internal and external data and attend to detail s and penchant for accuracy
- Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments and meet timelines
- Experience with Data Flow, Data Pipeline and workflow management tools in cloud environments (GCP, Snowflake etc.) , GITHUB
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Functional Competencies (Analytics) such as Descriptive Analytics: Visualization tools (Sigma, Tableau), Data cleansing, Mining, Exploratory data analysis & insights.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data mining, natural language processing, or deep learning techniques.
- Certification in data analytics or machine learning.
- Basic proficiency of data visualization techniques & tools - Experience with dashboarding tools (Google Data Studio, Tableau, DOMO, Sigma etc.)
- High level of comfort with large sets of internal and external data and attend to details and penchant for accuracy
- Good facilitation and project management skills
- Understanding of Colgate’s processes, and tools supporting analytics (for internal candidates)
- Willingness and ability to experiment with new tools and techniques
