Colgate-Palmolive invites applicants to apply for our South ASEAN Hub (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei) eCommerce leader role. The incumbent will champion eCommerce growth strategy and focus on driving eCommerce sales growth and contributing to the Hub’s digital transformation. The eCommerce Team Leader will drive and build  capabilities across the organization, help brands to gain a competitive advantage in their go-to-market (GTM) strategy and drive eCommerce penetration and growth above market rates.


Reporting to: General Manager


Main responsibilities include but not limited to:


Strategy & Planning

  • Responsible for eCommerce business planning and strategy development that includes developing consumer and shopper-based business plans to deliver aggressive yet achievable sales, share and profit objectives
  • Provide thought leadership in the development of strategic priorities and annual execution plan for the business. This includes assessing various platform opportunities and best practices in market segmentation, building commercial plan based on strong portfolio management, optimal 6P plan, digital marketing support, GTM optimization, etc. consistent with the Company’s strategic growth plans
  • Actively keep abreast of market developments, opportunities and competition
  • Build new business models to create scale and accelerated company growth


Sales & Commercial Responsibilities


  • Lead financial planning linked to growth plan for all countries in the Hub to drive commercial success
  • Develop/deploy overall strategy and commercial planning by platform including new initiatives, quarterly promotion and campaign planning, customer differentiation and competitive intelligence
  • Lead the Sales team to achieve annual sales/GMV goals, increase distribution, visibility and market share.
  • Regularly update sales trends and build winning market positions by identifying new opportunities whilst developing, defining and negotiating strong business relationship
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless collaboration and executional excellence to drive business results


Customers and e-Distributor management

  • Work closely with customers and e-distributors to align and implement annual commercial plan
  • Review and assess eTailers & eDistributors’ needs, and build a robust engagement plan with regular connection via business review / top-to-top (T2T) / joint business planning (JBP), etc. to establish professional and productive partnerships
  • Lead negotiations with strategic customers and business partners. Responsible for Terms & Conditions management, with an ability to conduct analyses on cost to serve and customer P&L optimization. 
  • Close collaboration with Customer Service & Logistics (CS&L) and edistributor to ensure sufficient supply of product available for sales and evaluate edistributor planning, use of funds and service


People management and Leadership

  • Support an integrated eCommerce ecosystem building, and standardize way of working (WoW) and SOPs across the Hub to drive efficiency & agility, developing team capability internally and bringing in external best practices to drive results.
  • Collaborate with HR for execution of key people plans (staffing, rewards / recognition, training / development, etc.)
  • Ensure effective collaboration across internal functions and Division, and with external customers and vendors.


The ideal candidate would have:


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with minimum 8 years of related experience; Brand marketing experience would be an advantage.
  • Strategic, analytical thinking ability and a proven business understanding and commercial acumen to identify opportunities and grow the business
  • Leadership ability to manage multiple countries/hub teams
  • Self-starter, capable of working in a fast-paced environment independently, who can make complex decisions based on available data / facts yet able to make business judgements in the absence of data.
  • Solid communication skills, capable of raising issues at all levels: team members, peers or  senior executives
  • Pragmatic yet innovative with an entrepreneurial spirit. Pushes the eCommerce organization to constantly improve by challenging the status quo
