DEPARTMENT’S TOP 3 OBJECTIVES:

Core responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinating with Customer Management and Consumer Insights the segmentation and validation of retail environments based on shopper profiles

  • Development of a Go to Market Strategy which defines the role of service providers, identifies the pricing flow for key SKUs, and ensures distribution and coverage are optimized in each channel at the lowest possible cost

  • Working in conjunction with Consumer Marketing and Consumer Insights to develop research programs: building expertise in retail environments, general shopping behavior, category-specific behavior by environment etc

  • Leading the development of a channel strategy which seeks to exploit incremental sales growth opportunities in existing, emerging and new retail environments

  • Establishing objectives and important metrics for all categories and retail environments and ensuring tracking mechanisms are in place and used

  • Anticipating, predicting, and proactively responding to competitive moves and tactics in the channel, and in-store programs, while benchmarking CP share of voice/activities in-store

  • Tracking, reviewing and modifying channel and account plans to ensure Colgate is driving consumption off the shelf cost effectively and brand objectives are achieved within channel and customer P&L guidelines

  • Assessing Colgate and category performance to develop, manage and implement the channel strategy, while managing the risks and opportunities

  • Defining the Go to Market Strategy and 5P tactics within the channel for all categories. 5P refers to Product Assortment, Placement, Pricing, Promotion and POP tactics for New Launches/ In-store programs/ National Promotions

  • Defining the Product Assortment and Placement Strategies within the channel on a half yearly

  • Implementing and Monitoring the implementation of the above, and revising the strategy and tactics whenever necessary

  • Leading shopper insight development and application by channel

  • Working with the Category Management team in developing and implementing the Catman strategies within the channel

  • Contribute to target setting during the establishment of the Budget

  • Works closely with Consumer Marketing and Customer Development to develop a robust channel strategy

  • Achieves the Budget in a cost-effective manner with emphasis on return on investment

 

Day-to-day responsibilities:

 

  • Management of Grid and ensuring all big hits are on time (all projects is ongoing for at least 8 months)

  • Liaising with Consumer Marketing on new launches / relaunches - ensuring trade inventories for all launches/ new launches are taken into considerations.

  • Promotion Quantity Management based on budget tracking

  • Identify / Evaluate and recommend market shares / distribution opportunities for CGIM / CBP meetings

  • POP / Detailing Management based on budget allocation

  • Pricing evaluation monitoring to ensure pricing strategy / promotion is competitive - work with Consumer Marketing

  • Develop Market share /POP / Display/Distribution targets by RE for all new launches

  • Develop Big hit newsletters for field sales to update / feedback

  • Co-develop Shopper Marketing plans with SDMs including sourcing of all customized promotions in collaboration with SDMs.

  • Attend all Nielsen / Shopper Insights / KWP meetings / CGIM meetings

  • Attend Focus Group Discussions / Shop Along to understand business issue / opportunity with Marketing

  • Follow up on in store execution, listing status, execution issues and help CDMs solve in store

  • Update RE handbook / strategies

  • Collaborate with Catman team - advisory on Placement strategies for all new launches.

  • CBP return on investment analysis - quarterly evaluation

Experience:
