Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated Associate Manager - Direct Procurement  to join our team! The Associate Manager - Direct Procurement plays an integral role by developing and implementing solid sourcing strategies while partnering with stakeholders, anticipates risk, identify key areas of opportunity to drive growth and efficiencies by selecting core suppliers and validating they provide optimal cost, quality and other measurable deliverables
What you will do?


  • Support implementation of Quality Standards in material and supplier management
  • Support implementation of new formulas and new packaging material
  • Support the direct material spend budget as well as Cost of Sales preparation
  • Execute effective negotiation for local managed direct material for cost effectiveness and contributes to the local Funding the Growth Programs
  • Updating latest material price into the system in timely manner and reflecting the volume split in the system for Planning to facilitate order issuance
  • Visiting supplier facility to understand the process and assessing the risk of supply and compliance
  • Raise relevant change control
  • Attending Regional Purchasing Council meeting
  • Managing the Custom related matter for importation of material e.g. duty exemption, custom declaration, forwarders and negotiation on rate
  • Work with Global Technology Center and Technical Services on new or alternative source of packaging suppliers on qualification plan
  • Obtain all the necessary documents from suppliers e.g. halal readiness, specification, quotation and SDS
  • Work with Technical Services / Packaging and production on new material plant trial requirements
  • Setup the supplier in the Supplier registration system system after performing the due diligence check and link up in the SAP system to enable purchases
  • Monitoring the movement of commodity and forex for price adjustment to key material and price negotiation
  • Liaise with supplier to enforce Procurement Policy, resolves issues, align services and provide samples to Global Technology Center for lab batch
  • Monitoring the mold and supplier machine capacity in the half yearly basis to ensure supply
  • Use Enhance Supplier Management Risk Assessment to prioritize the packaging supplier audit
  • Perform Enhance Supplier audit on high risk supplier and ensure finding closure within the stipulated timeline
  • Facilitate supplier meeting with production and quality team to highlight non-conformance and follow up on supplier’s forward action
  • Coordinate the implementation of Supplier manage Inventory with appropriate suppliers to optimize inventory
  • Key contact of packaging material suppliers and to get supplier to comply with the relevant Quality Standard and 3rd party code of conduct requirements
  • Constantly review the risk of supply by introducing alternative source and evaluate the need for contract coverage
  • Contract negotiation with suppliers with the support from local legal team
  • Support the initiative from Global e.g. Future Cost Planning


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/International Business/Procurement or a relevant course bachelors degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Direct Procurement in an FMCG environment
  • Adepth with Excel and SAP
  • Good communication skills
  • Good negotiation skills and influence skills 

Preferred Qualifications


  • Basic understanding of procurement, spend category management and project management methodologies, and e-procurement processes.
  • Knowledge in eProcurement Tools
  • Experience in international companies
