We are looking for a Sr Customer Development Manager - Indirect Trade (IDT) who is responsible for developing and supporting the partnership between Colgate and the distributors/ customers in the assigned geography to deliver sell-thru, volume, distribution and market share targets.

 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directing activities of assigned Customer Development Executives and working with Customer Development Managers in building relationships with key contacts (e.g., buyers, store managers) and providing customers with objective and trustworthy analysis of their business in order to ensure that accounts carry an excellent portfolio of Colgate products that receive optimal exposure at the retail store level. 

  • Monitoring activity at store level and communicating competitive, category, and product (e.g., pricing, product assortment, and placement) information impacting sales results to customer marketing and sales management so that they can proactively respond with new strategies and tactics

 

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISION:

  • Managing and setting the team’s objectives (within the local Direct / Indirect Priorities, Customer Development Strategy and Global Customer Strategy framework) and ensuring that the team delivers the overall team mission and goals, while building CP’s & the Customer’s mutual business, and working together to satisfy target consumer/shopper needs 

  • Defining the specific roles of individuals within the team, promoting teamwork and ensure the team is motivated to deliver results 

  • Establishing specific KPIs and ensuring tracking methods and communication are in place, and setting specific action plans for each team member to support their achievement of the team KPIs 

  • Managing a monthly meeting in which the team’s mission and objectives are reviewed to ensure progress & alignment towards overall company goals, and where specific issues and KPI performance are discussed and action plans refined 

  • Providing coaching and feedback and ensuring adequate training to team members; evaluating performance and developing IDPs, advising on career paths and providing opportunities for development, acting as a role model and reinforcing desired behaviors 

  • Communicating the team perspective to subsidiary commercial and business planning processes 

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Degree

EXPERIENCE:

  • 6 Years of Consumer Goods Industry Experience 

  • 6 Years of Functional Experience
