What role will you play as the HR Leader of the organization? The HR Director will partner with the business to provide both day-to-day and strategic leadership to drive people and organization initiatives that drive capability and support business growth in the GCR. You'll work to execute business and HR priorities including talent management, employee engagement and relations and organizational effectiveness (performance, organization design & capabilities and change management) ensuring that they are implemented in each of the countries that make up the GCR (Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Caricom). You will ultimately be an organizational architect that will help shape business and culture for Colgate to be at its best.

 

What you will do

  • HR Partnering

    • Be an integral part of the business and collaborate with the Leadership Team on key business decisions and develop solutions that improve performance and anticipate business needs.

    • Understand local market and external factors to contribute to the development of insights and to support Business HR, COEs (Centers of Excellence) and business decisions

    • Leverage data to identify people/organizational insights and inform decision making.

    • Keep a finger on the pulse of the organization and external market and human resource trends.

    • Provide leadership and guidance to business leaders related to the implementation and management of the HR strategy in the respective Business Unit/Global Function

    •  Identify and implement forward-thinking HR solutions based on understanding of relevant business operations and strategies aligned with the HR Strategy

  • Talent Management

    • Address questions from business stakeholders on interpretation of HR policies, consulting with COEs as needed

    • Understand and apply the company’s philosophy, principles and programs (including total rewards, learning, people development and mobility)

    • Participate to the co-creation, deployment and execution of CoE-developed strategies (including, e.g., rewards & recognition, employer brand, development and learning)

    • Highlight local nuances to Business Partner / COEs as applicable to inform the design and execution of HR programs

    • Support the recruitment, hiring, and social onboarding of staff in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition COE, CBS team and hiring managers

    •  Support leadership development by working together with Business Leaders to identify current and projected leadership and functional capability gaps and to work on solutions that are aligned with HR Strategy and CoHREs

    • Manage campus recruiting programs, including orientation and rotational programs (Internship).  

    • Advise and mentor business leaders on topics impacting leadership efficiency and business results

    • Own the preparation and facilitation of talent reviews and succession planning

    • Collaborate with the Learning COE to identify learning needs, support the execution of Learning Demand Plan and provide feedback

    • Manage international assignment transfers (legal documents, net pay estimates, onboarding)

    • Spearhead change management or transformation initiatives for the business

    • Support Business Partner and Managers in the execution of employee engagement initiatives

  • Positive Employee Relations

    • Advocate for employees through workforce relationships

    • Contribute to leaders’ initiatives to build and maintain a positive employee relations work environment

    • Support the execution of employee and labor relations training for management and supervisory staff

    • Advise and coach business leaders and managers on the resolution of employee inquiries and issues, consulting with Legal as needed

    • Champion the company’s Ethical Leadership standards, behaviors and compliance Partner with the Diversity and Inclusion COEs to implement relevant local initiatives.

    • Leverages employee insights in order to increase engagement and create an inclusive work environment

  • Organization Effectiveness (Organization Performance, Design, Capabilities and Change Management) 

    • Collaborate with Business leaders on organization design, including structure, processes, capabilities, and resource requirements, and identify gaps and opportunities

    • Collaborate with business leaders on action planning to support implementation of organization design.

    • Facilitate and support change management tailored to specific Business Unit and Global Function needs.

    • Collaborate with Business Leaders and Managers on  employee engagement initiatives

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standard

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline

  • At least 15 years of progressive HR experience

  • At least 10 years in HR leadership roles 

  • At least 10 years in at least one HR Specialty Area (Compensation, Benefits, People Relations, People Development, DE&I, Analytics, Organization Development/Design).

  • Strategic partnership skills

  • Proven analytical skills; data driven

Experience Requirements

  • Experience in providing HR strategic advice to HR partners and Senior business leaders

  • Experience in development and implementation of HR initiatives

  • Experience in coaching and guiding Teams and  Sr Business Leaders

Travel Requirements

•        Expected percentage of travel: Approximately 0-25-%

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree/MBA
  • Manufacturing and/or consumer products industry 
  • Strong business acumen
  • Labor relations; union exposure
