JOB SUMMARY

 

The HR Business Partner/HR Manager will provide leadership as a key member of the site leadership team on strategic business and human resource priorities including organization design and capabilities, learning and development, employee engagement, change management and organization effectiveness. As a business partner to managers and employees, you will have responsibilities to perform a variety of complex, professional HR activities across labor relations/issue resolution, policy/process development and renewal to ensure compliance with company policies as well as federal and state employment legislation.  The right candidate will be able to meet the day-to-day requirements of the Human Resources function while maintaining a strategic and operational view to produce positive impact, sustainable growth and foster an inclusive culture at Tom’s. 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Commit to Impact as a Business Partner:

  • Provides direction, leadership and support on all HR related processes/activities to managers and employees.  
  • Operates within a team environment and seeks to increase team member's interpersonal, leadership and collaborative skills and knowledge to a level consistent with best in class companies.

  • Participate with functional leaders and others as necessary to develop and implement strategic organization plans, strategic labor relations plans, and near and long term resource / staffing plans 

  • Coach team members cross-functionally in the areas of communication skills, career paths, promoting a positive work environment where trust is cultivated through formal and informal feedback sessions.

  • Partner with the various CoHRE and CBS teams on HR processes (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning) and speak openly to optimize and improve as beneficial.

  • Support implementation Performance Management, MindSpark 2.0, Success Factors and Time & Attendance systems.

  • Support effective management of the People Capabilities Standard in compliance with the Colgate Factory Performance & Reliability (FP&R) Program.

  • Guide and support managers in developing corrective actions and ensure proper documentation and follow up for low performing employees

  • Promote effective project and team management with clearly defined project sponsors, scope and deliverables 

  • Support measurable goal attainment and business value impact.

  • Represent the company in outside community activities, and encourage employee engagement and participation

  • Coach and model lifting Leadership Principles to cultivate trust, commit to impact and create the future.

 

 

Ownership of HR Function: 

  • Co-own all talent management (Career Development, Talent Planning, Performance Management) programs together with functional leaders

  • Co-own the annual salary planning and compensation forecasting processes with Salary Planning Managers and Total Rewards teams to reward and differentiate individual performance delivered (quarterly bonus, promotions, merit/wage increases) 

  • Develop best in class local talent sourcing strategy, leveraging best practices, technical schools, universities and diversity institutions

  • Ensure effective on-boarding and a welcoming, inclusive culture for new employees/transfers in alignment with organization’s vision, purpose and culture so they can quickly contribute to the organization’s goals

  • Build organizational capability and drive change management

  • Manage, develop and coach direct report

  • Conduct annual needs assessment and define/measure action plan to address both current and future capabilities and inform progressive learning programs 

  • Ensure HR data integrity is accurate and updated in the SAP/Success Factor HR systems. Conduct periodic audits readiness assessment to ensure compliance and continuous improvement discipline

  • Partner with DEI CoHRE, ERGs to implement relevant local initiatives

  • Advise and coach managers and supervisor on the resolution of employee inquiries and issues, consulting with Legal as needed

  • Ensure effective, consistent administration of Human Resources policies and guidelines

  • Establish an effective communication plan to understand the pulse of the organization and measure progress through regularly updated action plans

  • Serve as an employee advocate by establishing workplace behaviors that model the company’s Ethical Leadership standards, F.E.E.D and leadership principles

Education/ Experience Requirements

Basic qualifications include:  

  • BS or BA degree required (HR, Labor Relations, Business, Management or related field)

  • 5 years of relevant Human Resource Generalist experience

  • Experience in one or more HR specialty area (Compensation, Benefits, People Relations, People Development, Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion, Analytics, Organization Development/Design, Learning) 

  • Quantitative reasoning skills to inform data driven decisions

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills, presentation and faciliation skills required

  • Proficiency with Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

 

Preferred qualifications include: 

  • Masters Degree preferred (HR, Labor Relations, Business, Management or related field)

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment 

  • Proficiency with SAP-HR and Success Factors systems

  • Professional Certification: HRCI/PHR/SPHR/GPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP

Salary Range $86,400 - $126,840 USD

Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
