Tom's of Maine is seeking a Finishing Technician to fill and package natural personal care products while meeting safety, quality, and productivity goals. The role supports the Finishing Area through Factory Performance & Reliability program elements such as visual workplace, equipment operating maintenance, and continuous improvement. The role also supports the facility with cleaning, repair, groundskeeping, and other support as needed.
This position will be scheduled from Monday - Friday, 5 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and require occasional weekend overtime work.
Core Responsibilities:

Safety - Ensure all EOHS requirements (Environmental Occupational Health and Safety) are met while you handle materials and operate equipment.

Quality -Ensure all quality guidelines (Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures) are followed during all manufacturing and cleaning processes. This includes documenting all batch, material, label, and in-process data with accuracy and neatness to meet FDA guidelines. Keep the finishing area and equipment clean and organized at all times.

Productivity – Operate workstation to achieve production targets with minimal waste and downtime. Cross-train to achieve mastery of all work station operations, material handling/documentation, and equipment set-up/routine maintenance.

Leadership –Work within the team environment in a professional and respectful manner. Attend all meetings promptly and engage in their content. Lead or contribute to Factory Performance & Reliability projects that promote continuous improvement.
Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Experience:
-
At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred

Ability to read, write, and understand English

Skill at adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing with consistent accuracy

Attention to detail and neat documentation

Ability to lift repeatedly up to 55 lbs

Ability to operate machinery safely

To understand the quality specifications of each product and ensure they are met at your station

To follow all quality guidelines (Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures)

To produce units at a rate determined by the line speed, maintaining smooth and continuous production flow, so as to achieve the daily production goals

To minimize waste of product and packaging by filling and packing each unit according to the Standard Operating Procedure

To be flexible to swing to an alternate shift, work overtime, or work weekends when required

To communicate with your team leader and fellow team members in a respectful way

To listen in a non-defensive way when receiving feedback

To be engaged in training and meetings

Forklift experience preferred

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $24.00 - $24.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
