Job Summary 


The Oral Care Consultant Supervisor is responsible for the OCCs  team for Puerto Rico and detailing team for Caricom,  therefore together they must achieve the relationship with the Dental Profession that positions Colgate as a Leader in usage and recommendation.
Responsible for training the OCC team on the mode of action and scientific support of the products to ensure utilization, recommendation and demand generation of our products by dental professionals. 



  • Train and supervise the OCCs in the implementation of the "Triple Win" detailing program methodology, to ensure the team objectives  accomplishment .
  • Supervise OCCs in their service and attention to the needs of the dentist in terms of education for their patients or the community in which they perform their function, generating reports of such supervision.
  • Must have an understanding of all the work of the  team: Detailing, Visit Materials, Presentations, Databases, Reporting, In-depth analysis of reports, recommendation follow up through discount coupons (where applicable).
  • Set an example for your reports with your level of visits and scientific knowledge to demonstrate how field work should be conducted.
  • Define strategies and work aligned with the Area Coordinator and the Regional Professional Relations Manager on defined strategies.
  • Define and organize the work areas of the OCCs, ensuring the optimization of coverage and frequency of visits. 
  • Lead and control work planning by cycle for each OCC.
  • Ensure the distribution of product samples for both personal and patient use by the  OCC team. 
  • Coordinate and provide assistance in scientific, academic and/or launching or diffusion activities oriented to the Dental Profession. 
  • Participate in professional events (such as Dental Congresses) related to oral health, attending professionals, promoting the diffusion of the brand and products. 
  • Work in the field 60-40% of their working time, supervising and developing their OCCs.  
  • Provide on-going coaching to the team on spotting business opportunities and on effective leadership.
  • Establish guidelines for the individual and team objectives of the OCCs. This in coordination with the Regional Professional Relations Manager.Demand Generation
  • Close follow-up of competition activities (samples, strategies, commercial dynamics).   
  • Contribute to positioning & Driving Pharma Line at RE Pharmacies & Drugstores.
  • Sell, promote and merchandise Colgate's professional products.
  • Consistently identify and engage new business opportunities.
  • Develop, with the support of a Regional Manager, territory business plan prioritizing largest/most profitable opportunities, continuously decreasing cost-to-serve. 
  • Build and maintain successful working relationships with Corporate DSO team, Remote Selling Team,, Marketing, 3rd party's distributor's Sales Force, and Dental Professionals to deliver business results.
  • Represent Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals at dental conventions, local dental/hygiene associations and dental/ hygiene schools.
  • Educate customers through detailing and in-clinic seminars/lunch & learns on the superior efficacy and value of Colgate professional portfolio.   Academic:
  •  Increase scientific knowledge on Oral Care products.
  • Coordinate implementation of lecture link conditions/products. 
  • Coordinate & implement educational and scientific initiatives to keep and maintain strong relationship with Dental Academies and Schools and ensure the continuity of Colgate leadership in the next generations of Dental Professionals.
  • Link BSBF with Universities social responsibility programs and pediatric clinics  to gain Colgate equity.
