Planning Team Leader

The Planning Team Leader is responsible for developing the daily production schedules in alignment with Customer Service and Operational requirements. In addition, maintains vendor relations and manages the supply/availability of raw and packaging materials to support the production schedules.

  

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop weekly/daily/monthly production schedules from the Master Schedule working through a team. Develop capacity strategy for the site.
  • Manage and coordinate manufacturing needs to ensure that the plant is adhering to production schedules while minimizing labor cost and meeting cycle-time inventory (CTI) goals.
  • Review demand from SAP/APO to understand the production schedule to meet customer demands where appropriate; logistics and capacity constraints and Operations/Making parameters. Ensure that the plan will deliver Customer Service while balancing Plant Performance.
  • Ensures data integrity of SAP/APO to include demand, inventory levels, BOMs, and material masters. Ensure that the plant is adhering to the Planning FP&R Standard.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with key vendors and share information relevant to changes in the business to continue the development of the partnership.
  • Support plant initiatives through involvement of activities/functions outside of Materials Planning.
  • Oversee inventory of finished goods, and ordering raw and packaging materials to support production requirements, service needs and working capital objectives. Manage finished good inventory not released by Quality and coordinate operational activities required for release.
  • Oversee raw and packaging materials coverage in order to maintain inventory levels.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, R&D and Supply Chain in order to plan for changes and new development in the workplace.
  • Ability to conduct/facilitate weekly scheduling and monthly capacity meetings
  • Timely reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) to include schedule adherence, case fill, and inventory returns.
  • Participate on the Vendor Continuous Improvement Teams representing the Supply Chain Team.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a B.A./B.S. degree; Business, Engineering, Logistics, Planning or related field required 
  • Experience with Google Suites (e.g: Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides)
  • Working knowledge of logistics and manufacturing systems required
  • Planning and organization skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate and express ideas with other team members
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, technical, and analytical competencies

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2+ years planning and/or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment
  • SAP / APO-R3 experience

 


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $72,400.00 - $114,000.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
