Role Summary

As the Quality Compliance Team Lead at our Clinton facility, you will play a crucial role in upholding our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality pet nutrition products. You will lead the execution, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the site's food safety and regulatory compliance programs

 

Responsibilities

  • Drive the effective implementation and continuous improvement of the plant's food safety and compliance programs, including HACCP, cGMP, and FSMA, while leading corrections for key Quality systems.

  • Lead all internal, customer, and external audits (e.g., FDA, USDA, SQF) and regulatory inspections. Conduct thorough CAPA investigations into compliance, food safety, and quality non-conformances to identify root causes and implement solutions.

  • Manage comprehensive documentation control, facilitate product release and process changes, and ensure robust Management of Change (MOC) processes align with regulatory requirements.

  • Direct work, schedule, train, and conduct performance appraisals for non-exempt Quality personnel and lab technicians, ensuring the operation and compliance of the quality laboratory.

  • Establish cross-functional partnerships to support Quality department goals, deliver engaging training to plant personnel, and generate metrics for Quality KPIs such as product holds and customer complaints.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience in a food, pet nutrition, or drug/GMP environment, with 3+ years in a Quality related field
  • 2+years of supervisory experience
  • Proven experience with FSMA, CAPA processes, managing regulatory inspections, and applied knowledge of FDA or USDA regulations.
  • Direct experience leading and coordinating internal and external audits
  • Proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including working in extreme temperatures, bending, climbing, lifting up to 55 lbs, and wearing proper personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work irregular shifts according to business needs 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual), HACCP, Food Defense, SQF, ISO 22000, and/or cGMP certifications.

  • Proficiency in Quality Management Systems, SAP, and strong experience with Lean Six Sigma or Statistical Process Control methodologies.

  • 2+ years of quality laboratory experience.


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $96,800.00 - $137,000.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
