We are hiring for a Regulatory Affairs  Specialist _Export Import for Hill’s in EMEA region regulatory team, with location in Prague, Czech Republic

Job Summary

The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will be leading the regulatory part of all export / import activities in the EMEA region for countries exporting from the EU and for global supply projects. 
You will facilitate regional and global decisions on import / export operations by functioning as a Regulatory Export / Import subject matter expert and liaison for Regulatory Affairs. 
You will work with veterinary control authorities and government agencies in the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Italy, and other manufacturing countries to facilitate exports / imports and assure regulatory compliance. 
You will oversee the health certification process and product registration process in the region.
Trade association work: represent Hill’s in the European Pet Food Association (FEDIAF) in the Feed Materials&Trade working group. 
The position reports to the Regional Regulatory Affairs Manager, EMEA.  

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

 

- Lead resolution of complex regulatory matters/problems involving exports/imports. Work with Dutch, Czech and exporting countries’ vet control authorities.
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Logistics to ensure that all compliance and regulatory requirements are met for timely export of products.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiencies and service levels as it relates to regulatory requirements. 
- Develop and implement procedures/systems to ensure compliance and expedite clearance of export/import shipments.
- Supervise development of accurate, complete and compliant regulatory documentation for exports/imports.
- Audit export/import documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor & actively share international regulatory information. Provide training with departments and personnel that impact export and import compliance.

- Possess in-depth knowledge of applicable regulations, including import and export requirements, relevant to export markets. 
- Use knowledge of import/export/registration requirements, processes and procedures to advise the business in devising strategies to support successful product introductions.
- Research, update and maintain country-specific regulatory intelligence files. Write regulatory assessments for PIRs and regulatory points of view (POV) as needed.
- Supports product registrations in the region (develops strategy,prepares certificates, analyses data, collects required information)
- Oversees maintenance of Importation and Registration database

- Represents EMEA RA at the relevant project and process meetings.
- Fosters positive engagement with internal cross-functions locally and globally (R&D, Marketing, CS&L, Procurement, Manufacturing, PVA, Legal, Customer Development) as well as with regulatory authorities.
- Represent Hill’s at trade association meetings.

- Responsible for the day-to-day management of regulatory personnel including mentoring, training, performance management and development.

Basic qualifications include:

Bachelor or master degree in a related field, scientific / technical background (biochemistry, biology, veterinary science, etc) is a plus
Industry experience in similar positions

 

Expected Areas of Skills

  • Experience in database operations for use and maintenance of related and non-relational data systems is a plus
  • Advanced user of multiple MS Office and Google applications and web-based technologies
