Colgate-Palmolive is seeking a highly motivated professional with a track record of excellence in skin biology and experience in the skin care industry for a Technical Associate position in the Early Research Personal Care, based in Piscataway, NJ location, to support our premium skin health brands.


 

The core responsibilities of this position include:

  • Lead the identification and development of new skin care opportunities using strong research fundamentals
  • Evaluate biofunctional actives for skin care/skin health products
  • Develop and implement predictive non-invasive skin methods to assess and document performance of benefits
  • Work closely with external partners in academia and start-ups to rapidly develop new innovation

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Management and execution of cellular and molecular laboratory assessment of biofunctional active ingredients and final products including competitive benchmarking
  • Development and implementation of pre-clinical dermatological methods (for example: ex-vivo) for proof of concept testing of laboratory leads
  • Develop research plans and independently execute project
  • Initiate and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues (e.g. contract labs, suppliers, operating units, marketing, etc.)
  • Identify new technology opportunities within area of expertise
  • Communicate results of research, both internally as well as via external publications and patent applications
  • Management of requirements involving legal agreements, IP, regulatory, safety and quality

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Cell Biology or Molecular Biology preferred) with a minimum of 4 years post graduate technical experience or equivalent working with skin related products
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong project management and execution skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trained in the dermatology department or skin biology research is a plus
  • Experienced with ex-vivo skin is preferred
  • Experienced with clinical dermatological testing methodologies is preferred
