Colgate-Palmolive invites applications for a Research Scientist position based at our Piscataway, NJ location. The research scientist candidate will be responsible for the research, development, and evaluation of next generation oral care products.  Specific activities include development of new technologies/solutions to improve the deposition and retention of actives on hard and soft tissue surfaces, characterizing release, and developing diagnostic devices/protocols to evaluate product performance.  
The individual should have knowledge in materials science and chemistry.  

 

A background in polymer chemistry and drug delivery devices is preferred.  Experience in biomedical engineering is a plus. The candidate must be able to contribute to the program strategy by understanding critical technical requirements in terms of the experimental design, analytical science, and formulation to develop an overall project plan that fulfills the business objectives.
The candidate must be able to work effectively on cross-functional teams that include partners from Research and Development, Marketing, Technology Insights, and Clinical.  A qualified candidate must be able to independently manage multiple technical projects concurrently and effectively utilize both internal and external resources to achieve project objectives.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D with 0+ years of experience, or Masters degree with 5+ years of industry experience. 
  • Capable of carrying out independent research programs with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including fluency in English.
  • Ability to interact with multifunctional technical/non-technical personnel and be an effective participant in a team environment

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge in the area of tissue regeneration or repair
