Colgate-Palmolive is seeking a highly motivated professional with a track record of excellence in skin microbiome for a postdoc position in Global R&D, Early Research Personal Care group, based in Piscataway, NJ location. The position is a two year fixed term of at-will employment with the opportunity to apply for full time employment at the termination of the term.

  • Develop lab and clinical methods to screen and validate new technology opportunities, incorporating the latest understanding of the role of microbiome in promoting skin health
  • Develop demos to illustrate mechanism of action and/or support superior performance of technology leads for premium skincare products

Responsibilities include:
 

  • Identify new research initiatives within areas of expertise
  • Develop new models and methods for technology assessment
  • Stay current on scientific trends and technology development
  • Validate the technology leads for microbiome and skin benefits
  • Develop research plans and independently execute projects
  • Identify and lead collaboration effort with external partners/suppliers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
  • Communicate results of research, both internally as well as via external publications and patent applications

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Ph.D. in  Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or Immunology required, ideally with experience in skin microbiome and skin health/function
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong project management and execution skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Deep understanding of skin biology is preferred
  • Experience with advanced microbiome analysis techniques is preferred 
  • Expertise in metabolic engineering or natural extracts is a plus
  • Experience with human 3D skin models is preferred
  • Experience with lab and clinical investigation of skin benefits is preferred
