Our highly technical and innovative team is dedicated to driving growth in this ever-changing landscape. What role will you play as a member of Colgate's Information Technology team?
As a Platform Engineer, you will focus on building, maintaining, and enhancing the various technology platforms our Data Engineers rely on daily. These platforms are key foundations to the processes and pipelines that power thousands of data-driven applications, tools, and dashboards that empower the business.
The Platform Engineer will be responsible for working with the Data Platforms team to help drive improvements in performance, security, maintainability, and scalability of technology platforms leveraged by Data Engineers & Analytical Engineers globally (GitHub, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Terraform, Apache Airflow, etc.). We are looking for a team player that is oriented to driving agility within the rest of our organization. In this role, you may be asked to research new technologies or platforms related to Data Engineering and share findings with the rest of the team, and/or provide consultation to other project teams within the organization, evangelizing best practices and security standards. You will work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
This position is based out of Piscataway, NJ location. Work visa sponsorship not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Build, maintain, and enhance technology platforms for Data Engineers, utilizing tools like GitHub, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, and more.
- Design and develop continuous integration workflows and support container deployment and orchestration using tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement test automation (Unit, Functional, Regression) and create application performance monitoring processes for data tools in cloud environments.
- Develop documentation for Platform team tools and iterate on standards and best practices for engineers, working in an Agile framework.
- Collaborate with higher-level IT associates for clarity on precedents, comply with organizational policies, and manage tasks via Jira.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years professional experience as an Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or related role
- Proficiency in version control tools like Git and GitHub, and code deployment tools, with preference for GitHub Actions.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, such as GCP and AWS, and Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform.
- Expertise in working with container frameworks, including Kubernetes and Docker.
- Ability to configure and use monitoring systems like Prometheus and Grafana, and perform network, server, and application-status monitoring.
- Strong command over programming languages such as Python, Bash, JavaScript, and software automation tools, including Selenium.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Agile framework
- Experience in using and maintaining shared/multi-tenant infrastructure
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $83,200.00 - $133,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
