We are looking for a highly motivated Packaging Engineer to join our team! This position is part of the Global Design &
Packaging Organization supporting the e-commerce business in the North America Division. This position is responsible for
working closely with the North America e-commerce team identifying opportunities to create new bundles for e-commerce
channels, certify existing SKU for e-com readiness, reduce chargebacks, streamline new product introduction. The role will work
collaboratively with R&D, Global and Division Marketing, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Legal partners. In addition, it will identify
projects that contribute to cost savings and corporate sustainability goals



What you will do
• Partner closely with NA e-commerce team to reduce chargebacks
• Perform and complete tooling/package qualification plans, technology transfer documentation (Design History Files) and
final package component specifications, Bills of Materials, Manufacturing Specifications, case/cube information.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Global Design & Packaging, Supply Chain and outside suppliers to identify package
technologies that meet key attributes (eg: costs, consumer usage/functionality, manufacturability and
compatibility/functionality of materials with product).
• Execute cost savings plans.
• Understand and interpret package testing procedures and results to support the effective design, qualification,
validation, and implementation of new package systems and packaging technology.
• Coordinate packaging line trials to ensure performance for manufacturing. Attend component and manufacturing
startups as needed to ensure proper execution of design, function, and manufacturability.
• Responsible for aspects of project management: project planning, capital expenditure management, and technology
transfer associated with projects. Manage flow of information, and communicate project timelines, costs, and associated
• Partner with plant engineering to ensure that packaging equipment/material system specifications, functionality and
design are appropriate for use.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards


Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Package Engineering/Technology/Science or related field
• At least 1 year Package Development/Engineering experience


Preferred Qualifications
• At least 2 years Packaging Engineering related experience, preferably in the consumer products industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
• Fundamental understanding of printing and decoration techniques for plastics, labels, and paperboard materials
• Fundamental packaging knowledge of laminate tubes, PET bottles, paperboard folding cartons, and corrugated shippers
• Knowledge of packaging processes such as bottle molding, injection molding, and filling lines
• Experience using SAP or other ERP software and/or plant-related computer systems
• Experience with Cape/Tops, Solidworks, and Illustrator
• Familiar with Project Teams and Project Management skills
• Familiar with statistical and predictive engineering tools (eg.: Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode Effect
Analysis (FMEA), Finite Element Analysis (FEA))
• Innovation experience partnering with design and marketing
