The Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis is a pivotal role that combines traditional financial planning responsibilities with digital and analytical techniques to provide support and drive efficiency in the Growth Plus Strategy (GPS) organization.  The GPS organization includes the functions of Marketing & Digital Marketing, Customer Development, Analytics, R&D, Supply Chain and IT.  This role is at the forefront of financial innovation, leveraging automation and data analytics to enhance decision-making processes and optimize financial performance across the company.  The scope of the support includes, but is not limited to, preparing and managing Budget / LEs; determining Risks and Opportunities vs. Budget/ LE and facilitating redeployment of funding throughout the year, project spending tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts (LEs), utilizing advanced digital tools and predictive analytics to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Drive the integration of financial planning with digital strategies, ensuring the alignment of financial goals with broader business objectives.
  • Spearhead the adoption of automation in financial processes to reduce manual efforts, minimize errors, and accelerate reporting and analysis.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities in relation to year-to-date (YTD) actuals versus budget/LE, and present findings to department heads and finance leadership.
  • Facilitate the strategic redeployment of funding throughout the fiscal year, ensuring optimal allocation of resources in response to emerging business needs.
  • Manage and track project spending against budgets/LEs, engaging with project owners to address variances and align financial outcomes with project objectives.
  • Perform monthly headcount analysis and reconciliation, collaborating with HR teams to align financial planning with workforce dynamics.
  • Oversee specific month-end closing activities, including journal entries and accruals, while ensuring the integrity of financial data and compliance with SOX and internal control requirements.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), leveraging analytics to drive actionable insights.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 4+ years of proven experience in financial planning and analysis, with a strong emphasis on digital tools, data analytics, and automation. Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting, with a track record of driving change and influencing decision-making at all levels of an organization. 
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, with a keen interest in leveraging technology to enhance financial operations

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear and actionable insights
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to mentor and develop team members while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $121,000.00 - $144,000.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
