Colgate-Palmolive invites applications for the position of Infrastructure Development Intern for the Global Information Technology (GIT) organization. This position involves working with Global Information Technology to research and manage new development in the infrastructure area. This candidate will be responsible for project planning and reporting to the Infrastructure Development Management as well as overseeing development and maintenance of relevant systems and related hardware. 

 

This candidate is also responsible for promoting the effective utilization of our systems and technology in the workplace by partnering with key customers to identify opportunities and provide appropriate training and support. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the GIT team to resolve business issues and gather requirements and to ensure that business critical GIT issues are resolved in the appropriate manner and on a timely basis. 

  • Manage global coordination and planning for approved projects.

  • Coordinate and manage system performance and reliability issues with the correct, relevant people.

  • Collaborate with GIT team members in Global Development, ESC and other ISM teams

  • Grasp technical concepts and apply learning’s based on global standards.

  • Ability to have cross technical skills within a system

  • Participate in projects, researching new technologies relevant to our business operations and make recommendations to enhance and develop our standards and infrastructure.

  • Keep all relevant stakeholders (business and GIT) fully informed on plans, progress, issues and risks.

  • Perform system administration activities and ensure compliance with maintenance policies and security requirements. 

  • Utilize technical expertise to troubleshoot hardware and software issues escalated by other members of the team.

  • Identify issues and create documentation to inform others to achieve resolution for future occurrences 

  • Manage relationships with external vendors where appropriate.

  • Develop an excellent understanding of our business operations and collaborate with the business to identify opportunities to better utilize our systems in the workplace. Focus on increasing operational effectiveness.

  • Manage documentation, project planning, and transition of activities to support organizations

  • Utilize new technology and skills to achieve faster and better results for our end users.

  • Maintain and expand current technical expertise including new industry trends, Colgate strategic partnerships, and self-study.

  • Ensure standards, policies and project methodologies are followed and provide input to change policies as needed

 

 

This position requires the following qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with a graduation date of May 2021 or later
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, not requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Strong technical knowledge in the following technologies:

    • LAN/WAN including Wireless and Printing

    • Windows Server 200X

    • SCCM

    • Symantec Antivirus

    • End user devices (PC’s, Smart Phones, Tablets)

    • Windows 7

    • Office 2010

    • OSD deployment

    • VOIP

  • Strong oral & written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms 

  • Strong analytical, problem solving & conceptual skills 

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment

  • Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week

  • Basic Knowledge in Windows, Windows Servers, networking. knowledge in .Net, Visual C ++ or other programming languages a plus
