We are looking for a highly motivated Packaging, Product, or Software Development Engineer to join our team! This role is part of the Global Packaging Organization supporting Global Packaging Operations. The role is part of a new packaging team to strengthen and improve the functional capabilities, processes, and systems of our packaging teams around the world. It will help lead the transformation of Colgate Packaging processes through the use of failure mode analysis, data analytics, sustainability reporting, and other engineering tools.

 

What you will do

  • Support continuous improvement programs to revamp and strengthen Global Packaging functional capabilities, processes, & systems
  • Identify improvement opportunities within packaging systems such as Packaging Specifications, Artwork Approval, & Sustainability Reporting as well as other systems in which we interface such as Master Data Management
  • Co-lead the digital transformation of Colgate’s Packaging processes which includes the rollout of the capability expansion programs such as pallet utilization improvement, failure mode analysis systems, and other engineering tools
  • Oversee packaging sustainability reporting programs with a central business support team
  • Manage the creation Packaging Training & Development curricula development, in partnership with HR Learning team and external content providers
  • Utilize data visualization tools to share performance and opportunities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Package Engineering/Technology/Science or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of technical development processes, systems, and ways of working
  • Knowledge about integrated systems/applications used for product specifications, master data management, supply chain management, and data analytics and visualization tools
  • Highly collaborative cross functionally, bringing technical depth, and thought leadership regarding new ways of working
  • Ability to partner with IT, Data Management, Supply Chain, R&D, Marketing, and Legal
  • Strong ability to understand day-to-day operational challenges and translate that into continuous improvement workstreams
  • Support Operations manager to build analytics capabilities and create the foundational knowledge / data driven approach to improve speed, accuracy and efficiency of work processes for the function of packaging

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years Packaging Development / Engineering related experience, preferably in the consumer products industry or
  • At least 4 years Product or Software Development related experience, preferably in the consumer products industry
  • Ability to work successfully in a global matrix organization
