Colgate-Palmolive invites applications for the Summer/Fall 2024 Data Analyst Internship for the Global Information Technology (GIT) organization. This role is a paid six-month internship that will begin in June and continue into the fall with opportunity to extend beyond. This intern will join the Data Platforms & Services team and design and implement data models and dashboards for  operational Analytics on the GIT tech stack. Several of our technologies have API's with rich data that has yet to be harmonized for the purposes of understanding their usage and performance at scale. These data models will be built on-toward the construction of a dashboard where we can derive global analytics and insights on our most important technologies. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Collecting and storing data from key APIs within the Colgate Stack

  • Conducting and document user interviews with technology stakeholders to understand operational visibility needs

  • Design and implement operational dashboard for tracking health and efficiency of key technologies in the GIT Tech Stack

  • Fulfill ad-hoc service and maintenance requests to GIT Data Platforms and Data Services team

 

Qualifications:

  • Must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program at a college or university with a graduation date of or later than December 2024

  • Majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Business/ IT Systems Management, or a related field

  • A minimum GPA of 2.8

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

  • Must be available to work hybrid at our Piscataway, NJ office location

    • Every Tuesday or Wednesday preferred, hours can be flexible

  • This position requires a 6-month commitment (June-December)

    • Must be available to work up to 35 hours/week during the summer 

    • Must be available to work up to 15 hours/week during the academic semester

  • Ability to work collaboratively with professionals of diverse backgrounds and technological skill levels

  • Intermediate to advanced Python programming skills

  • Intermediate to advanced SQL programming skills

  • Knowledge of, or experience working with or building APIs

  • Knowledge of, or experience modeling data schemas and database architecture 

  • Knowledge of, or experience with data visualization/visual language of dashboarding


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $21.75 - $31.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
