Position Objective


Responsible for Contract Manufacturing (CM) Quality from Product Development to finished product. Manages the Quality activities defined for Contract Manufacturers as per the Selection, Management and Discontinuation Contract Manufacturers SOP (CM SOP), to guarantee the quality of their products and assure they meet the CM Quality Standards.




- Ensure FDA/Regulatory agency compliance of CMs
- Assure the contract manufacturer receives, understands and implements the CM Quality Standards. Provide guidance to maintain CM's audit readiness.
- Guarantee the Quality activities defined in the CM SOP to Qualify and Implement a CM, are conducted, ahead of production. These include QTA, Risk Assessment, ESM audit and the Tech Transfer process phases previous to the production start-up.
- Leads and manages the Technical Transfer process. Ensures the responsible team covers all the steps of the Tech Transfer process. Documentation has to be conducted appropriately through the tech transfer check lists, as per Tech Transfer SOP’s, including the post-launch phase. Assure the Contract Manufacturing Bundle books are updated to current practice and all change management is documented.
- Become the link between CMS and R&D on all Quality related topics with the CM.
- Ensure that all Contract Manufactured formulae are updated in the PDM system, and approved by Product Safety and Regulatory areas.
- Drive continuous improvement in contract manufacturing by monitoring and reporting the Quality KPIs (MSI, Consumer Complaints, Non-Conformances, OSQ, Mock recalls and Process Control).
- Review and determine appropriate next steps (approves/declines) non conformances, NOD's, OOS, Consumer Complaints and CAPA and address the issues with the CM.
- Ensure acceptable KRSs are reviewed and approved prior to releasing product from the contract manufacturer’s control or Colgate’s control as defined and required by the regulation. Ensures CI is in place for KPI improvement.
- Responsible for finished goods release. Ensures the CM generates and provides a CoA per product and shipment.
- Support the mock recovery audit process by assisting with defining the mock recall plan per year for Contract Manufacturers, Colgate sites and Distribution Centers based on Colgate’s Mock Recall procedure, and by ensuring that corrective actions in mock recovery audits reports are implemented and documented, when necessary.
- Identification, communication and resolution of quality risks identified with the CM.
- Assure the Annual Product Quality Review and Annual Stability studies are conducted in a timely manner for CM regulated products.
- Oversees/monitors/coordinates annual review of raw materials and packaging materials for heavy metals, when applicable.
- Coordinates execution of the review of retain samples according to the SOP for Testing Frequency Requirements for Aesthetic Stability of New Products, Significantly Changed Products and Routine Inspection of Existing Products.
- Participate and support the simplification and FTG initiatives coordinated by the CM Operational Leader.
- Provide the Quality support required for the Contract Manufacturer renewal phase or termination phase at end of contract.


Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related science (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 7+ years prior experience in a Manufacturing/Plant Operations, Supply Chain, R&D and/or Quality role
- Minimum of 3-5 years utilizing quality systems, Global Quality Standards and statistical tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; capable of influencing change


Preferred Qualifications:


- Lead Audit Qualified required, Certification preferred
- Familiar with manufacturing plants and environment preferred
- Familiar with tech transfer requirements preferred
- Enhanced Supplier Management (ESM) certification preferred
- Experience using SAP
- Knowledge of process capability measurement ( i.e. Cp, CpK, etc) is beneficial
- Position will require 20-30% Travel
