The Commodity Manager, Global Utilities & Energy will lead strategic negotiations and provide support/guidance for the Divisions sourcing activities of Utilities and Energy, aligned with global strategies, including 2025 sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the Global Procurement governance in all projects, CRMC (Contract Risk Management Committee) approvals, eSourcing tools, Supplier Code of Conduct sign off, etc.
  • Keep close contact and develop strong partnerships with category partners. Follow Stakeholder engagement best practices to better understand the business needs and align on resources and priorities.
  • Engage senior leaders when there is a need to bring up any issues.
  • Develop and implement any related process improvement in the category.
  • Participate in Industry events to bring new insights to the organization.
  • Be an active participant in the Commodities Fearless forecast meetings with key energy/electricity commodities trends and insights.
  • Be a key contributor to the company’s renewable energy initiatives and goals.
  • Manage ethical and professional relationships with vendors.
  • Support global and regional initiatives identified in the annual goal alignment.
  • Support procurement risk assessment and risk mitigation plans.
  • Quickly support spot requests from the Divisional or Global organizations.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and dynamic attitude. Take leadership on key initiatives.
  • Define the portfolio options for energy in our sites and the contract strategy for price and supply
  • Provide energy commodity insights to Direct materials buyers on conversion cost implications from suppliers
  • Achieve or exceed the savings and simplification goals.
  • Actively support the Global Procurement Digital Transformation.
  • Lead or support the annual benchmarking exercise with similar companies to Colgate and internally with the Divisions. Do spend deep dive in the assigned categories/country/hub.
  • Apply spend analytics standard methodologies, and do frequent deep dives in the assigned categories/country/hub.
  • Update annual Supplier Segmentation in the category.
  • Lead and supervise the effective contract execution and management in the assigned categories.
  • Lead and standardize e-Sourcing processes, build appropriate templates to facilitate this process.
  • Support Procurement Division Manager and Procurement Category Managers by providing timely and accurate assistance on relevant topics and initiatives as required
  • Support Tactical and Strategic sourcing initiatives as required
  • Support all IP groundbreaking initiatives as required; automation, e-invoicing, p-cards, improvement supplier payment, etc.
  • Directly lead/manage procurement projects as needed
  • Track users Procurement compliance and bring up as necessary.
  • Maintenance of Ariba Procurement tools, ie. eBuy contracts, outline agreements, catalogs, etc.
  • Update requirements and enable this in the form of a catalog that can be loaded into Ariba.
  • Support vendor creation process and approvals in MDM.
  • Lead and/or participate in supplier audits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field.
  • At least 8 years experience, either in energy companies or other consumer goods/services industry.
  • Project management skills.
