Roles & Responsibilities

 

Location: Paris

Reporting to: 

Solid to Global R&D (Colgate-Palmolive)

Dotted to Filorga Global Brand Director

 

Responsible for Product / Packaging Development team

  • Lead development and implementation of new product innovation in Skincare formulations including collaborating with key cross-functional stakeholders on technical briefs and liaising with contract manufacturers for execution and launch.

    • Lead technical opportunity space exploration; new biological concepts, new textures, upstream innovation, etc.

    • Lead packaging function to support product innovation and sustainability.

    • Lead SELECTION OF ACTIVE INGREDIENTS/TECHNOLOGIES and relationship with all active ingredient/technology suppliers.

  • Manage strategic contract manufacturing relationships to deliver best in class formulations/packaging.

    • Ensure quality/accuracy of all raw material compositions and specifications, formulas as well as manufacturing documentation and test reports. 

    • Manage technical transfer or reengineering of existing products between contract manufacturers and/or from Global R&D to contract manufacturers. 

  • Collaborate with Global Technology & other key stakeholders to provide technical guidance and support to ensure on-going compliance with Ingredients of Concern program and future European Green Deal. 

  • Provide Technical Expertise: 

    • White coat interface to accounts  

    • Q&A lists/ Q&A meetings

    • Support marketing & sales for product launches/ relaunches

    • Provide technical support for all people in the field

  • Ensure all product claims are substantiated and supporting documents are available. 

    • Coordinate in-vitro, in-vivo, ex-vivo & clinical testing, in collaboration with Global Technology teams.

    • Propose and review claims / support claim substantiation  

    • Point of contact with the rest of the organization to support claims

    • Technical research (research paper identification) required to support claims

    • FAQ documents: review, language crafting support, substantiation support

  • Scientific Communication

    • Collaborate w/ Global R&D and Scientific Affairs to deliver the following:

      • Develop strategic roadmap for enhancing Filorga’s scientific credentials with skin care professionals

      • Creation & implementation of publication grid strategies by region

      • Manage advisory board meetings 

      • Identify additional opportunities: Societies for collaboration, Grant/Fellowship engagement 

      •  Professional outreach activities 

      •  Academic relationships

 

Basic Qualifications (required education, experience, skills etc to qualify candidate):

 

  • Level of Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, etc.) or Engineering (Chemical, Biochemical, etc.). 

  • Minimum 15 years experience of proven success in R&D SKINCARE or similar environment. 

  • Strong technical background in SKINCARE rather than Personal Care formulation development and evaluation, with ability to guide all development phases from initial conception to commercialization is required.

  • Previous leadership experience (inclusive, matrix organization, caring, people development, cross-functional partnership). 

  • Must possess broad lab experience, awareness of analytical techniques, effective multi-functional technical/non-technical communication skills, and demonstrate a collaborative approach to internal/external interactions

  • Master project and time management skills, supporting multiple projects with different timelines and goals

  • Strong Leadership and Communication skills. 

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
