Job Purpose
Support the Customer Development Manager (CDM) in managing a portfolio of CP products with the retailer by assisting with business planning, promotional analysis, and account administration. Contribute to achieving net sales and margin targets, and help identify growth opportunities through data analysis and negotiation support. Ensure accurate demand planning in Atlas and take full P&L responsibility for part of the product portfolio.
What you will do
- Participate in meetings with retailers alongside the Customer Development Manager (CDM), contributing to the preparation with promotional insights and updates to the Joint Business Plan.
- Collaborate with the CDM to develop customer plans that fulfill the objectives of both Colgate-Palmolive (CP) and the customer’s key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Enhance the retailer engagement story by integrating insights that benefit the broader CP business.
- Cultivate mutually beneficial partnerships with your retailer's Supply Chain contacts responsible for forecasting, facilitating meaningful discussions to align on customer demand planning.
- Handle external communication with retailers effectively.
- Provide support to the field sales team by furnishing them with essential materials (such as presentations and data) to optimize their impact and effectiveness with our retail partners.
- Offer comprehensive support to the commercial team to meet all budgeted KPIs by accommodating external operational requests, performing ongoing analysis, and maintaining up-to-date Joint Business Plan analytics alongside external data sources.
- Partner with the Consumer Experience team to explore and execute in-store activation opportunities with your customers.
- Oversee the process of invoicing, tracking, and addressing outstanding issues in collaboration with the Colgate Business Service Center (CBS).
- Lead the input of customer plans into the Atlas system, ensuring that volume and pricing details for all baseline and promotional events meet the Monthly Discipline timelines.
- Work closely with the Demand Planning team to incorporate all customer dynamics.
- Ensure the accuracy of master data and the successful launch of new products or co-pack solutions.
- Assist the CDM in preparing planning diagnostics (such as post-evaluations, promotion grids, ROI assessments, etc.) for monthly one-on-one meetings with the CD Team Lead, utilizing the Customer Service & Logistics team as necessary.
- Evaluate promotional activities of Colgate and competitors using various data sources, and suggest strategies for continuous improvement in CP plans. Apply lessons learned to future customer demand forecasts in Atlas, considering current category and customer performance.
- Communicate with the Demand Planning team and initiate “Fast Track” processes when unexpected events occur within planning timeframes that could impact our capability to meet customer demand

- Capable of creative thinking and developing sound, fact based recommendations to drive the CP business forwards. Negotiating and influencing externally to drive results for CP.
- Eager to share best practice with the wider commercial team in order to develop the group as a whole and stimulate new ways to approach our business challenges.
