The Treasury Analyst position, located in our New York headquarters, offers excellent opportunities in enhancing knowledge of core Treasury functions, particularly in capital markets, foreign exchange and derivatives. The successful candidate should be a great team worker and possess excellent communications skills and the ability to work undertight deadlines given the time critical nature of transactions and daily processes.

 

The individual will be expected to develop Treasury competencies and gain hands-on experience in several core treasury functions. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

Cash Flow & Interest Expense Forecasting
● Compile short-term and medium-term US cash flow forecasts. Track actuals and compare to forecasts
● Analyze forecasting variances and make recommendations on how to improve forecasting and reduce variances going forward
● Create monthly/quarterly/annual corporate interest expense forecasts utilizing inputs on cash flows from regional treasury centers, corporate accounting, supply chain, tax department and others
● Prepare and deliver presentations to Senior Management on corporate interest expense forecasts for official estimates in March, May, September and annual Budget
● Support the treasury organization on its digital journey by leveraging technology and automating treasury processes when possible

 

Liquidity Management and Capital Structure
● Prepare and execute daily commercial paper trades in both USD and EURO markets based on the Company’s liquidity needs
● Invest extra cash in time deposits or Banker’s Acceptance Notes on behalf of 
Colgate Canada
● Create global cost of capital rate by country on an annual basis utilizing market data, information from global banks, and inputs from regional treasury centers
● Update cost of capital rate on a quarterly basis for the US

● Create summary of peer data on various capital structure KPIs and analysis of results vs the Company for use by the company’s Capital Structure Strategy Committee and Board of Directors
● Assist in preparation of company’s 5-year forecast and annual forecast for capital structure strategy
● Assist in preparation of materials for annual rating agency meetings with S&P and Moody’s

 

FX Risk Management
● Development of analytical tools to assist with hedging decision-making
● Provide analytics around the execution of FX trades and related reporting
● Work with regional treasury centers in setting up and executing required FX trades
● Provide ad-hoc reports for division management on FX analysis

 

Treasury Reporting
● Prepare and consolidate Quarterly Treasury Report
● Compile Treasury related data to be reported in 10K and 10Q filings
● Provide analytics around the Company’s foreign exchange, interest rate and commodities exposures
● Provide a daily update to Executive Management (includes CEO and CFO) on market activity. This includes stock price of company and peers, treasury yields, oil prices, foreign currency exchange rates, etc

 

Your Experience Includes:
● Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting required; MBA preferred
● 3-5 years of prior experience in Treasury, Accounting, and/or Finance functions
● Working knowledge of financial markets, foreign exchange rates/markets, derivatives, cash management and banking

● High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to execute and follow-through to completion
● Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
● Strong communication skills (oral and written)
● Interest in process improvement and implementing best practices
● Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with Google Suite of tools
● Working knowledge of Bloomberg a plus
● Working knowledge of SAP and SAP Treasury module a plus

Salary Range $68,880 - $101,220 USD

Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
