The Colgate-Palmolive Company invites applications for the position of Financial Analyst/Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting and Analysis in our New York office. This position is responsible for the preparation and analysis of a wide variety of financial and other reports including quarterly SEC filings, the annual report, and the proxy statement.

 

Specific responsibilities for this position also include butnot limited to the following:

 

● Preparation of reports, presentations and analysis designed to communicate selected financial data to Senior Management and the external investor community;
● Preparation and analysis of SEC filings, i.e. 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K, including XBRL tagging
● Preparation and analysis of Benefit Plan financial statements, i.e. 11-K and ERISA financial statements
● Colgate's compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
● Research on a variety of technical accounting and business issues
● Assist with the maintenance and communication of current and new accounting policies to finance personnel around the Colgate world
● Assist with the coordination and administration of the worldwide external audit
● Various special projects and analyses as requested such as the implementation of new accounting standards
● Train junior staff (i.e. interns) and review their work

 

Required Education and Experience:

● Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting required
● CPA required
● Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience -- preferably within a Big 4 firm
● Experience in the consumer product industry a plus

 

Preferred Competencies:

● Balance multiple priorities, be detail oriented, work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
● High level of comfort and ability to work with multicultural teams from multiple regions around the world
● Strong analytical skills
● Excellent communication ability, both written as well as oral
● Strong PC skills required, proficiency in Excel, Word
