About the role:

The Manager, Workplace & Collaboration Services (WCS) is responsible for managing information technology (IT) for the Corporate headquarters of Colgate-Palmolive. This position leads a team of 8 to coordinate computer system and software maintenance and repair; assists with computer equipment purchasing and installation; and maintains networks and connectivity for over 800 users. Additionally, this position runs technology for the executive and helps the board of directors and directly interacts with senior leaders to onboard them to the systems.


  • Lead a team of 8; conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and career development, assign work and lead the team (hire and fire as see fit in accordance with company policies and procedures)
  • Develop a strategic vision & plan to support all Park Avenue employees; Establish the team structure and equipment support value proposition based on best practices
  • Lead all members of the team, to develop their skills both individually and as a team so that they can deliver the best service
  • Lead, handle and develop the team to support all aspects of the IT Site Service, taking operational responsibility for the team, including where day-to-day management has been delegated.
  • Mentor team on project management and user interactions to get this done.
  • Organizes support, troubleshooting, and repair for IT equipment and networks
  • Supervises IT support department staff, including education, training, and advancement
  • Ensure IT support for all key C-Suite executives on a 24x7x365 basis including technology training, asset replacement and upgrades, repairs, moves, changes and general inquiries.
  • Must create and execute plans to lead a team to extend persistent white glove service to key executive areas – the ability to establish executive presence and professional relationships with executive administrative assistants and understand schedules and events is critical to success.
  • Ensure that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services ensuring that such problems are fully detailed within relevant system(s). Coordinate the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures and analyze patterns and trends.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase customer happiness and Develop key performance indicators (KPI s) to measure the impact of improvements
  • Plan and manage the departmental budget and performance against plan; Supervise spending on equipment, travel, overtime, etc
  • Ensure that incidents and requests are handled according to agreed procedures and ensure that documentation of the supported components is available and in an appropriate form for those providing support.
  • Develop implementation plans for looking after sophisticated requests for change or for the introduction of new services, evaluating risks to integrity of infrastructure inherent in proposed implementations and reviewing the efficiency of change implementation.
  • Analyze business processes identifying alternative solutions and recommending innovative approaches. Help establish requirements for the implementation of changes in processes.
  • Take ownership for the definition, documentation and satisfactory completion of medium-scale projects identifying, assessing and managing risks to the success of the project. Ensure that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained and provide regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Lead team to develop a budget and track equipment
  • Communicate effectively, acting as a key liaison with customers, team members and colleagues in Park Ave; Develop a reputation of IT leadership, as both a trusted subject matter expert in IT as well as a reliable partner in coordination of IT initiatives to executive leadership and founders.
  • Take ownership for its own workload and keep others advised, highlighting potential problems and suggesting solutions to ensure continuity of service delivery.
  • Promote and assist in the implementation of WCS strategies, policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with many GIT and Business functional groups, as well as with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Run physical space requirements in Park Ave, transferring work/hardware as needed
  • Work with the Auditors and WCS team to provide all required information, quickly anticipate or remediate any concerns raised during audits.
  • Ensured all audits were complete without any WCS Control Comments or concerns.
  • Handle windows and other upgrades
  • Established plans to mitigate the risk with changes in end user technology
  • Develops and maintains emergency plans to address equipment, power, or security failure to ensure preservation of technology and data
  • Has a detailed understanding of available technology and researches to learn about innovative solutions and new releases
  • Offers niche expertise in IT demands for a particular industry, such as education, finance, or manufacturing
  • Ensure all IT equipment in conference rooms is working appropriately
  • Lead Tech Expos to engage PK users in what’s coming in IT
  • Enable the team to become experts in Google GSuite tools and act as liaisons with the core Collaboration team.
  • Lead Tech Expos to engage users in the Park Avenue Office on what’s coming in IT
  • Lead Video integration with Google
  • Pilot new technology (eg: new devices, new tools) to provide feedback for global rollout of the tools
  • Manages AV support for all major meetings inside and outside of Colgate in Park Avenue and Piscataway for the Board of Directors.
  • Manage physical space requirements in Park Ave, transferring work/hardware as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a Related Field
  • 10+ years of experience in an IT related field
  • Demonstrated experience leading people (5+ years)
  • Experience with Computers and Networks, Leadership, Management, Staffing,
  • Strong written, verbal and Interpersonal Communication skills
  • Excellent Problem Solving, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, Partnership, Attention to Detail
  • Ability to work under stress
