The Director of Corporate Treasury will manage all capital markets activities and ensure efficient management of the company’s capital structure.  Additionally the Director will oversee the Pension and Investments function, a treasury center responsible for the cash and liquidity management of a key geographic region for the company, as well as oversee the Enterprise Risk Management program including insurance.  The role requires significant interaction with external advisors and key internal finance partners including Tax, Controllers, and Budget & Planning.  The Director serves as the “go-to” expert for capital markets and financing topics. The position will report directly to the Vice President & Treasurer and oversee a team of approximately 10 direct and indirect reports.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Work closely with the Vice President – Corporate Treasurer, the Treasury team and other senior corporate executives, as appropriate, to determine the most cost-effective strategies for financing the Company's business initiatives and optimizing the Company's capital structure

  • Assume leadership responsibility for maintaining relationships with the Company's global banks, rating agencies and financial institutions to ensure that the Company's business plans and strategies are well supported

  • Oversee the Company’s share repurchase program and evaluate execution strategies

  • Manage interest rate risk inherent in the global debt portfolio and analyze appropriate solutions for mitigating risks.

  • Stay abreast of changing conditions across debt, equity, currency and interest rate markets.

  • Provide oversight to a regional treasury center to ensure execution of global treasury vision and best-in-class treasury management

  • Work closely with Global Tax to mobilize liquidity efficiently

  • Assist in preparation of capital structure strategy  and insurance updates to Board of Directors

  • Manage/monitor the Company's global financial exposure across its banking relationships to ensure balance, preferred positioning, and fund availability while minimizing the cost of borrowing

  • Advise business on financial risk management and cash management topics

  • Oversee pension risk management and defined contribution investment management

  • Oversee the enterprise risk management program including insurance

 

Basic Qualifications (Required education, experience, skills etc to qualify candidate)

 

 

  • Master’s degree required (MBA, Business, Finance or equivalent);  CPA, CTP, for CFA a plus

  • 15+ years of experience in treasury and corporate finance

  • Experience in global capital markets, capital structure, shareholder distribution strategy and credit rating agency relationship management

  • Strong understanding of shareholder value principles with a demonstrated ability to identify, quantify and manage financial instruments and market risk as well as counterparty risk.

  • Knowledge of cross-border transactions and financing techniques

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statement impact of treasury transactions

  • Focus on process improvement and drive innovative solutions that would enhance effectiveness and efficiency

  • An individual who has strong strategic, tactical/implementation and project management skills with a strong results orientation

  • Good at Interpersonal relationships and can be a credible business partner

  • Aspiration to learn Colgate’s various lines of business

  • Experience in leading and building teams

Salary Range $177,600 - $260,400 USD

Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
