Global Total Rewards; Director, US and PR Retirement Benefits
At Colgate, we recognize the importance of an employee benefits offering as part of a comprehensive Total Rewards package. The Director, US and Puerto Rico Retirement Benefits will ensure that we fulfill this mission by designing and managing the operation of our savings and pension qualified and non-qualified plans, and our financial education program. You will be responsible for all aspects of design and delivery, including strategy, plan design, compliance, administration, risk management, vendor management, change management, and communications, incorporating our caring values and commitment to excellence. You will work closely with Colgate team members responsible for our health and insurance programs, legal counsel, senior leadership, payroll, finance, HR business partners and external vendors and engage with employees and retirees..
Responsibilities:

Manage and provide strategic direction for the design and management of both qualified and non-qualified defined contribution and defined benefit plans for US, Puerto Rico, and global expatriates – plan liabilities of $5 billion

Evaluate marketplace practices and competitive trends in benefit coverage to deliver a benefits package that align with corporate strategies and attract, motivate and retain talent

Responsible for delivery and administration of retirement benefits, managing a number of vendors and internal processes, utilizing in-depth technical knowledge of defined contribution and defined benefit plans with a focus on best in class customer service, accuracy, compliance, governance, risk mitigation (including cybersecurity matters) and efficiency

Manage related vendor contracts partnering with legal and procurement resources

Develop communications which attract, engage and retain employees

Manage an effective, inclusive financial wellbeing program

Maintain internal process documentation, plan records, historical information

Manage plan documents, regulatory filings, disclosures, audit processes, related policies, SPDs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in partnership with Finance partners and internal and external counsel

Use data and multiple information sources to support an analytical approach to decision making, strategy and communications

Manage proposal process for related vendors

Lead retirement plan harmonization projects for acquisitions

Prepare and lead presentation of applicable materials for the benefit plan administrative committee

Oversee the work deliverables of and develop the retirement benefits team

Partner closely with key stakeholders such as Legal, Finance, Tax, Payroll, HRBPs and Internal Communications to ensure efficient plan administration and excellent customer service to employees

Lead all aspects of multi-stakeholder projects to implement all types of retirement plan benefit changes

Participate in and align with international retirement strategy and delivery

Partner with the Compensation group to ensure a "total rewards" employee experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

15+ years of experience in U.S. retirement benefits either within consulting or corporate organization

Bachelor’s degree
-
Extensive knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL, and other federal and state regulations related to retirement plans.

Proven experience with vendor management, plan design, customer service, plan governance, and compliance.
- Very strong proficiency in Microsoft and/or Google tools particularly with MS Excel/Google Sheets
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; the ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations
- Professional certifications such as CEBS, ASPPA, or relevant credentials

Ability to continually exercise judgement in prioritizing and managing both day to day work and strategic initiatives in a fast paced environment

Executive presence with the ability and credibility to present ideas and recommendations at all levels within the organization

Analytical/Decision Making ability to address complex problems and all related considerations, including compliance, administration, fit with strategy, employee perception
- Excellent project management, analytical, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills (oral and written).

Familiarity with HR and Benefits administration systems
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $185,000.00 - $215,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
