The Experience

As the Director, Insights Enterprise Oral Care (EOC) you will:

Have primary accountability for the development of consumer insights and understanding of the Oral Care category dynamics across markets, and for using this in business decision-making and strategy development to achieve business goals of growth and profit. As the Insights Lead you will work collaboratively amongst the team uncovering and communicating key insights, context and actionable strategies for business growth.


As a key member of the Global Insights and Analytics extended leadership team, the incumbent will bring a combination of modern, data-driven insights approaches, strong eye for business, and outstanding  communication skills.

 

 

Your responsibilities are:

  • Develop deep, actionable consumer insights for the global oral care category, by understanding consumer segments, people journeys, need spaces, brand equity, the competitive landscape, white spaces, etc. and weaving together disparate sources into a comprehensive 360 view of the consumer and category.
  • Drive the evolution and modernization of insights capabilities for the Oral Care category at Colgate, infusing consumer insights with the analysis of real-time data and behavioural analytics (social listening, ratings & reviews, search, consumer feedback, etc.) to enable better and faster decisions on innovation, communication, brand health, etc.
  • Build a future focus, driven by people centricity and consumer obsession, to help anticipate consumer behaviors and trends that will craft the oral care category, and connect them to actionable, strategic opportunities for CP.
  • Combine market scans with a deep understanding of trends and the consumer to identify innovation opportunities and emerging technologies and benefits.
  • Align the department’s focus and efforts with the organization’s broader goals and strategies, playing an active role in strategic decision-making
  • Think and act with a business lens, delivering actionable consumer and business insights
  • Infuse consumer centricity into every aspect of the organization
  • Ensure Insights is known and valued for subject matter expertise, steadfast curiosity, creativity and innovation, objectivity, actionable storytelling, technical excellence, business insight, strategic approach, thought leadership, and a passion for change
  • Improve the impact and engagement of their team through inspiring leadership, talent management, and individual and team development
  • Serve as a strategic business and thought partner for senior executives across marketing and commercial teams
  • In partnership with global insights, identify function training needs, team development plans, and succession plans
  • Develop a fact-based approach to primary research, secondary research, and business analytics including development of innovation pipeline/roadmap, and marketing/communication plans by defining and driving both scanner data analysis and custom research projects and translating these into key insights and recommendations for the Oral Care category.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 12+ years of experience or a Master's or MBA +10 years of experience  in insights and analytics organizations with at least the last 5 years spent in leadership roles
  • Deep understanding of key insights methodologies (segmentation, etc.) and analytics methodologies (MMM, price elasticity, etc.) and a clear understanding of the capabilities and limitations of various techniques
  • Genuinely curious and self-motivated; ready to solve customer problems through creative research design and analysis
  • Highly organized, with an ability to juggle multiple projects at any given time without sacrificing quality/nuance
  • Proven ability to optimally build partnerships and influence partners and decision making at all levels of a complex global organization, preferably in the consumer goods space
  • Strong analytic skills - not just reporting directly on data, but making linkages between answers and contextualizing with other inputs to “read between the lines”
  • Able to drive business value through effective communication skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate with multiple partners.
  • Ability to mentor, develop and lead teams towards meeting business objectives.
  • Strong team/people leadership to inspire others to action and influence across functions and levels, including senior leadership.
  • Executive presence is a must and the ability to effectively communicate through verbal and written formats.
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to take very technical concepts and translate to business value to various audiences.

 

 

 


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $150,000.00 - $191,000.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
