Colgate-Palmolive is recruiting candidates for the role of Director, Global Treasury.  This position is part of Colgate's Corporate Treasury Department and will report directly to the Vice President and Corporate Treasurer for Colgate-Palmolive Company.  


The Director of Global Treasury will manage all Treasury Operations activities to ensure the efficient management of the company's liquidity. Additionally, the Director will oversee the Foreign Exchange risk management function as well as the Treasury Centers responsible for the cash and liquidity management of key geographic regions for the company. The role requires significant interaction with external advisors and key internal finance partners including Tax, Controllers, and Budget & Planning. The Director serves as the go-to expert for treasury operations and risk management topics.


Specific position responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:


  • Work closely with the Vice President Corporate Treasurer, the Treasury team and other senior corporate executives, as appropriate, to determine the most effective strategies for optimizing Colgate’s management of its cash while meeting the Company liquidity needs and ensuring that the appropriate level of internal controls are in place;
  • Drive process improvements and productivity initiatives in the treasury operations space, including the global roll-out of the S4 Hana Treasury solution across the Company's four Regional Treasury Centers in order to improve the standardization of processes, reduce manual activities, and increase automation;
  • Identify, own and mitigate financial risks, including foreign exchange and counterparty risk management by recommending strategies to minimize foreign exchange exposures and monitoring the company's global financial exposure across its banking relationships. The Director will also lead the agenda of the Financial Risk Management Committee, the committee responsible for the oversight of the Company’s main financial risks;
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the Company Treasury Centers in North America, Asia and Latin America to ensure the execution of the company global treasury vision while mentoring and developing team members to reach their potential;
  • Collaborate and partner with the Procurement and Supply Chain organizations on their  initiatives to increase efficiencies and mitigate risks (i.e. execution of Virtual Power Purchase Agreements or analysis of commodities hedging programs);
  • Lead working capital optimization initiatives across the company such as the implementation of supply chain finance or dynamic discounting programs;
  • Oversee the Bank Account Governance strategy for the entire organization, and ensure that appropriate level of governance also exists in any new business models such as Direct-to-Consumer;
  • Lead the company Cash Flow Forecasting and Optimization efforts with the objective of improving forecast accuracy and the team’s predictive capabilities;
  • Advise business and finance communities on financial risk management and cash management topics, and work closely with Global Tax to mobilize liquidity efficiently;
  • Assume leadership responsibility for maintaining relationships with the Company's global banks to ensure that the Company's business strategies are well supported;
  • Assist in preparation of strategy updates to Board of Directors.


Position Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field required;
  • MBA preferred; CPA, CTP, or CFA a plus;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Treasury and Corporate Finance;
  • Experience in global capital markets, including foreign exchange risk management, capital structure, and treasury operations;
  • Strong understanding of shareholder value principles with a demonstrated ability to identify, quantify and manage financial instruments and market risk as well as counterparty risk;
  • Knowledge of cross-border transactions and financing techniques;
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statement impact of treasury transactions;
  • Effective communication with an ability to lead and influence direction with those outside immediate reporting control.
