Job Title:  Corporate Finance Intern - Tax

Travel Required?:  No Travel
Date:  Mar 8, 2023

The Corporate Finance internship is located at our headquarters in New York City.  The qualified candidate will be able to work in New York for at least the next 12 months, part-time through the academic school year and full time during the summer months (June 2023 through a minimum of June 2024).


If you completed senior year and are pursuing a Post-Graduate/ Masters in Accounting or Tax, the Corporate Tax group offers a great challenge and a tremendous opportunity for personal as well as professional development.




State & Local Tax Assignments (80% time):


  • Assist in gathering and compiling apportionment data to be used in the preparation of State & Local income tax returns.

  • Prepare computations and analyses for depreciation for states that decouple from federal depreciation. 

  • Prepare 2022 state income tax return calculations and forms in software for selected state tax filings.

  • Handle administrative tasks associated with state tax filings in 50 jurisdictions, such as mailings, processing payments, copies, scanning, corresponding to notices etc.

  • Assist with quarterly and year-end state income tax provision.

  • Assist with other state projects like planning, automation, research tax law changes, mergers and acquisition, filing short period returns, process improvements, etc.


Federal Tax and Planning (20% time):


  • Assist in compiling and updating data to be used in periodic estimates and US federal income tax return filings

  • Assist in the preparation of pro forma federal income tax returns for entities included in the consolidated US group.

  • Assist in the organizing and drafting of international disclosure statements on US federal income tax return

  • Work with Manager, Tax Planning and Support to develop streamlined subsidiary reporting of corporate transactions

  • Assist with various ad hoc planning projects 


Skills needed:


Solid computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets are required(  Intermediate excel skills such as the use of Pivot Tables, Vlookup)

Exposure to the area of tax and OneSource tax software would be helpful.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills, conscientiousness, a fast learner, an ability to work in teams are necessary attributes for this position.

Salary Range $23.00 - $27.00 USD 

Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location.
