The Experience: 

 

In today’s dynamic, it is an exciting time to be a part of the Finance department at Colgate.

 

What role will you play as a member of the Colgate Finance ´s team?

 

This role  is responsible for all financial aspects of Canadian business which includes both Personal Care and Home Care. The Manager needs to provide credibility, be able to challenge, collaborate and communicate with both the category and finance teams. The Manager plays an active role in the budgeting, control, and monitoring of brand performance and spends with turnover in these sub categories.

 

Who are you…

 

You are an architect.-

 

  • Developing brand P&L's for financial estimates, the annual budget and trade plans both in Canadian & USD $.
  • Analyzing and assessing cause and effect relationships relating to price/volume, cost of goods, and media/consumer promotion.
  • Proactively controlling on a day-to-day basis all brand-related spending including trade.
  • payments (gross-to-net), media and consumer promotion and SKU management (approx. 350 SKUs).
  • Analyzing monthly actuals vs. financial estimates, identifying risks/opportunities and convey understanding to both the Canadian PCP & HC Marketing Teams.
  • Developing financial projections for new products utilizing net present value concepts.
  • Drawing attention to business opportunities by appropriate methods such as "what-if" scenarios and presenting alternatives.
  • Functioning as an integral teammate bringing challenge, credibility and communication to the PCP and HC Commercial Teams.
  • Provide financial analysis, assistance or support, as needed, on cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 8 years of diversified, related financial experience
  • At least 10 years of related experience
  • SAP proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • MBA/CPA
  • Previous P&L management experience
  • Knowledge of various aspects of trade and consumer promotion

Expected areas of skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple activities and set priorities.
  • Strong communication skills as well as ability to clearly present financial issues are essential.
  • Proven ability to think creatively and display the initiative to generate ideas and improve results.
  • Very strong analytical skills and system.
