We are looking for an Associate Director, Category Insights & Analytics to join our team and build our Skin Health capabilities.   The Associate Director will serve as a strategic partner to work closely with all relevant partners (Marketing, E-commerce, R&D, Customer Development, Analytics, external agencies) to develop and implement learning plans and synthesize research that supports the team’s business objectives.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating and using research to generate data-based recommendations.  The AD role requires an experienced researcher who is comfortable with traditional and agile tools, is adept in qualitative and quantitative methodologies and can quickly capture and interpret learning to influence the organization.

The Role:

  • Lead insight work for the EltaMD and PCA Skin brands and support the North America region

  • Coach the brand teams to be passionate advocates of data and the voice of the consumer and champion people centricity

  • Work with broader insights team to set the learning agenda and budget for the global skin health organization and ensure that work is actionable, additive and shared while informing brand and commercial strategy

  • Ensure the right work, KPIs and interpretations are presented in a compelling way to drive decision making

  • Innovation is the lifeblood of the category, so being comfortable with tools and interpretation in the early fuzzy front end through to validation is critical. Given the need for rapid innovation cycles and deployment, the Associate Director should be very comfortable with combinations of qualitative and quantitative data to drive decision making along the way.

  • Manage a broad set of primary research efforts including survey creation/analysis (research partners will program/launch studies) and utilize the standard array of methodologies (tracking, product testing, social listening, IMC validation, shopper).   

  • Drive foresight and trends to identify future forward growth opportunities for the skin health category.

  • Work with analytics teams in key markets to leverage and guide advanced analytics tools (MMMs).

  • Build strong relationships anchored on trust with teammates. Be comfortable at collaborating and bringing people together. Foster teamwork, inclusion and dedication

  • Manage 1 direct report and work closely with interns, trainees, etc.


Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Statistics, Business, or related field preferred

  • 10+ years’ experience in Consumer Products Goods, pharmaceutical, media agencies, ecommerce firms or other data / consumer experience rich industries (e.g.  banking/finance, insurance)

  • Prior working experience in the skin category

  • Global experience; comfortable working in highly matrixed environment

  • Strong hypothesis generating/testing skills and statistical analysis skills

  • Working knowledge of syndicated data (e.g., Nielson, IRI or NPD)

  • Well versed in digital analytics and know how to measure and read the performance of digitally focused businesses.

Salary Range $136,000 - $200,550 USD


Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
