The Social Engagement Specialist will aide in the social engagement and execution across Colgate's social properties. This role will primarily focus and be responsible for the day-to-day management of Colgate's master-brand channels including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter as well as emerging channels like Tik Tok. They will serve as the "voice" of Colgate on social, using a people-first mindset to help the Colgate brand come to life through social. They will work alongside the Social Strategy Manager and cross-functional marketing teams to plan and execute alway-on consumer engagement and social listening programs.

 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the social media content calendar for Colgate
  • Holding IBE and agency teams to timelines for social content plans
  • Coordinating procurement of images/video, copywriting across channels
  • Publishing and refreshing assets across all owned channels
  • Interacting with consumers in owned social media channels
  • Identifying relevant, cultural moments for real-time agile marketing and engagement
  • Partnering with Consumer Affairs to escalate issues, opportunities, and risk
  • Working with channel vendors and agency partners to develop critical metrics
  • Leading ongoing measurement and reporting for social media performance

 

 

Basic qualifications include:

  • Bachelor degree in marketing or related field
  • At least 3+ years of experience in marketing-social media 
  • Experience in social listening and media monitoring
  • Familiarity with brand reputation and crisis communications 
  • Organized, enthusiastic, and proactive

 

 

Preferred qualifications include: 

  • Fan of pop culture and tuned into social media trends
  • Eye for design and social-first content
  • Creativity and dabbles in copywriting

 

 

Expected Areas of Skills:

  • Core capabilities in Community Management, Content Development, Project Management, Social Listening, Social Analytics
  • Experience with Social Media Management Systems and Social Listening and Monitoring tools like Brandwatch/Crimson Hexagon, NetBase,  Socialbakers, Sprinklr, Spredfast, Sprout Social, Synthesio, etc.
  • Understanding of brand-level social media communications and familiarity with adapting styles of engagement
