Job Summary (purpose):
Colgate-Palmolive is looking for an SAP Basis Administrator / Database Administrator to join its growing Global infrastructure services organization! We are looking for a SAP Basis administrator who will work closely with discrete business areas to provide support and to ensure the smooth operation of all SAP and non-SAP systems, as well as various databases within Colgate’s architecture. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling projects and supporting production incidents with minimal impact on business operations.
The SAP Basis administrator should be experienced in conducting SAP system upgrades, migrations, installations, add-on component upgrades, database patching, upgrades, and migrations. Perform system refreshes, backups, and restores, and maintain HA infrastructure.
Additionally, knowledge of cloud environments and automation skills using Python , UiPath , PowerShell or Bash scripting would be highly helpful.
The candidate will be working together with project teams, global IT infrastructure organizations, end-users, and vendors to implement and support technology changes.
Main Responsibilities:

Ensure the highest performance and reliability of the existing, complex production support environment. Tackle production system issues (SAP and databases)

Upgrade and install new SAP systems
-
Perform SAP add-on and patch upgrades
-
Implement end-to-end system refreshes, including database restore commands
-
Set up transport routes and Solman ChARM configurations
-
Conduct database release upgrades, kernel upgrades, system upgrades, and more, with a strong knowledge of UNIX.

Handle backups, restores, and EWA setups

Install various SAP systems (S/4, R/3, APO/SCM, BW, PI, Java/Portals, MDM, etc.)

Install language packages
-
Expertise in at least one database (DB2/HANA/MaxDB/SQL)

Installations, patch upgrades, release upgrades, and disaster recovery setups

Prepare and maintain user documentation

Implement technical tasks with limited supervision
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
-
Over 4 years of BASIS experience with at least 2 years in core BASIS production support

Experience with at least one SAP product and one of the following databases: DB2, HANA, MaxDB, or SQL

Good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in SAP performance tuning

Hands-on knowledge of UNIX, Linux, and/or Windows operating systems

Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, UiPath, PowerShell, or Bash
-
Licenses and certifications in SAP Basis Administration and HANA Administration
-
Experience working with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
