Job Summary (purpose)

The candidate is an expert and responsible for design, development and implementation of various applications in the area of SysAdmin - Linux Administrator and provides support.

The Person requires extensive familiarity with LINUX systems and servers and may involve a high level of risk assessment and user support.

The person should be specialists in install, configure, and maintain LINUX operating systems. This role involves server-side operations and troubleshooting tasks that support business-critical and development activities. Configure user access and monitor system stability and security through deployment and everyday use

The person will be required to collaborate with business teams / functional teams and IT counterparts for daily support incidents and project activities in different business areas across all geographies.

The person should have the ability to understand the requirements related to business problems and transform that into a solution design.

 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Understand and apply information technology standards to daily support and project implementation activities

  • Apply conceptual knowledge of business processes and technology to solve highly complex business processes and procedural problems

  • Manage and/or perform the design, build and testing of business applications and its architecture in line with agreed time frames, business requirements and global standards

  • Maintain production systems reliability through correct utilization of GIT standard support and governance processes

  • Support day to day business requirements according to global SLA

  • Deliver solutions to solve business requirements considering priorities and resources availability

  • Ensure the proper use of information technology project management methodology to comply of information technology governance practices

  • Collaborate with business and functional teams, develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project

  • Ensure proper documentation of processes, knowledge acquisitions and transfers

  • Manage / guide members to implement cross functional projects / initiatives leveraging project management standards

  • Mentor and coach junior resources

  • Review program codes and suggest correction in case of any errors

  • Conduct performance tuning to improve system performance over multiple business processes

  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancement. Adapt to these changes by self-training and research work and evaluate how / where it can add value to the business

 

Required Qualifications: 

 

  • Hands on experience in

    • Linux Administration skill / area min 4-5 years

    • SUSE high availability cluster Setup

    • Network Topology and OS standards

    • LINUX Logical Volume Manager (LVM) configuration and troubleshooting

    • Perform critical security upgrades

    • Maintenance activities

 

  • Knowledge of 

    • SAP HANA architecture

    • Commvault backup infrastructure

    • Centrify LDAP services

    • Google Cloud technologies

    • Database, Server and Operating Systems

  • Strong oral & written communication skills

  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems logically 

  • Ability to troubleshoot and identify root cause

  • Should be flexible and adaptable to new technologies

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Engineering Graduates / Graduates or Equivalent (computers, electronics, instrumentation is preferable)

  • Total Industry Experience - 4- 6 years
