The Experience:
In today’s dynamic technology environment, it is an exciting time to be a part of the information technology team at Colgate. Our highly technical and innovative team is dedicated to driving growth for Colgate Palmolive in this constantly evolving landscape.
What role will you play as a member of the Colgate’s Information Technology team?
As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for developing and working with application development teams across the company, primarily using Snowflake, Google Cloud.
This position will help drive improvements in performance, security, maintainability and scalability of our applications within our Enterprise Architecture and research new technologies or platforms related to DevOps and share with the rest of the team, and/or provide consultation to other project teams within the organization, promote best practices and security standards.
We work on the latest data technologies in the Cloud space including Snowflake, BigQuery, DBT, Apache Airflow, Apache Iceberg, Spark and more. This position will be focused on building out and leading the vision for our external and internal data in our modern cloud data platform.
The candidate should be comfortable in playing a lead role towards the evolution of technology deployments across the global footprint.

You are a DataOps Engineer -

Design, automate and support CI/CD stack, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and logging

Work with developers and release management to design and implement delivery pipelines
-
Solve production issues and coordinate with engineering teams to streamline code deployment
-
Participate in architecture design and implementation of infrastructure monitoring, security, and scaling solutions
-
Evaluate and promote forward-looking processes, tools and technologies that help deliver high-quality secure software faster and more efficiently

Develop and maintain design and solution documentation
-
Apply GIT DevOps guidelines and standards
-
Partner with the Global DevOps group to work on new standards/guidelines/policies
-
Implement and improve automated testing solutions in coordination with dev teams
-
Design & develop integrated build pipelines using continuous integration workflows (e.g.- GitHub Actions )
-
Support the deployment of containers and container orchestration technologies (e.g.- Docker, Kubernetes)

Apply knowledge of current technologies and methodologies with business subject matter to develop technical solutions.

Ensure the proper use of information technology project management methodology to align with governance practices

Collaborate with business / functional team, develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation of project

Conduct performance tuning to improve system performance over multiple business processes

Stay updated with the latest technological advancement. Adapt to these changes by self-training and research work and evaluate how / where it can add new value to the business

Build expertise in diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles related to DevOps
What you’ll need…(Required)

Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

5+ years IT professional experience
-
3+ years experience as DevOps Engineer
-
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g.- Docker, Kubernetes).

Experience working with cloud environments (e.g.- GCP, AWS)
-
Experience managing infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g.- Terraform)
-
Working knowledge on DevOps tools like Git and GitHub, specifically GitHub Actions
-
Strong background in Linux
-
Experience with automation via any scripting such as Bash or Python.

Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills
