Role Summary/Purpose

We are seeking a versatile and highly skilled Sr. Business Specialist to serve as the definitive bridge between our core SAP ERP backend and the wider enterprise ecosystem. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain cloud-ready custom SAP S/4HANA applications while strictly adhering to "Clean Core" extension approaches. You will combine deep technical architecture with hands-on development to deliver robust integration frameworks and optimize end-to-end solutions. Ultimately, your expertise will help align engineering deliverables with long-term strategic business objectives, ensuring seamless connectivity and high performance across the enterprise landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development & Modernization: Design, develop, and maintain complex RICEFW objects using Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP), ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, and modern ABAP Cloud development models (RAP/CAP) to ensure strict Clean Core compliance.

  • Integration & Architecture: Design and build robust OData services, custom APIs, and integration flows (iFlows) within SAP BTP / SAP Integration Suite to ensure seamless, high-performance connectivity between SAP and third-party systems.

  • Governance & Optimization: Drive rigorous performance tuning, cross-system troubleshooting, and code reviews while enforcing technical standards and change control to ensure long-term platform stability and upgrade compatibility.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with IT Functional teams, Power Users, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate complex technical architectures into actionable designs, guiding decisions on when to build in the ERP core versus the integration layer.

  • Service Delivery & Operations: Support daily business requirements and production reliability in strict alignment with global Service Level Agreements (SLAs), proactively monitoring, debugging, and resolving issues within the S/4HANA Private Cloud environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Technologies, or a related technical field (or equivalent work-related experience).

  • Core Development Experience: 8+ years of hands-on SAP technical development experience, with deep expertise in Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP), Enhancement Framework (BAdIs, User Exits), CDS Views, and ABAP Development Tools (ADT).

  • Modern Frameworks: Proven experience with S/4HANA Private Cloud environments, including "Clean Core" extension approaches, RAP/CDS models, and SAP Fiori/UI5 integration.

  • Interfaces & Middleware: Strong track record in designing interfaces (IDoc, RFC, Web Services, OData) and managing secure integrations using standard SAP objects, custom mappings, and scripting.

  • Professional Attributes: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and cross-system debugging skills combined with excellent written, verbal, and business presentation communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP ABAP for SAP S/4HANA.

  • Advanced Architectures: Practical exposure to SAP BTP, SAP Edge Integration Cell, SAP API Management, Python, or hybrid cloud deployment architectures (such as Google Cloud Platform).

  • Technical Versatility: Highly flexible and adaptable to new technologies, with the ability to quickly master technical architecture or integration touchpoints for specialized enterprise modules (e.g., SAP EHS).

  • Strategic Capabilities: Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality results independently, make sound engineering decisions, and effectively align objectives across multidisciplinary, regional teams.
