The Experience 

In today’s dynamic analytical / technological  environment, it is an exciting time to be a part of the Analytics team at Colgate. Our highly insight driven and innovative team is dedicated to driving growth for Colgate Palmolive in this constantly evolving landscape.

 

What role will you play as a member of the Colgate’s Analytics team? 

 

Analytics Engineers role would orchestrate the last-mile data pipelines and deliver data to Analytics Leads and Data Scientists  for use in dashboards and models

 

The role would focus on expanding and optimizing our data, data pipeline architecture, data flow and collection for multiple Advanced Analytics projects across Revenue Growth Management, Market Effectiveness, Forecasting and so on.

 

 

Who are you…

 

You are a function expert -

 

  • Explores novel data sources and proactively identifies high-value data sources (both, internal and external) aligned and needed for the team’s use cases and strategy. Develop technical strategies for data acquisition, storage, and governance.

  • Provides clean, transformed data ready for analysis

  • Applies  software engineering standard processes to analytics code (version control, testing, continuous integration,...)

  • Maintains data documentation & definitions

  • Supports Data Scientist and Data Analyst by applying transformations for ML models on datasets

  • Partners with Data Engineers to implement establish the right data and systems for Commercial Analytics

  • Assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs

  • You will work on data initiatives and ensure efficient data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. 

  • Work with data and analytics to strive for greater functionality in our data systems

  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc

  • Build and maintain efficient data pipeline architecture in cloud environment

  • Define data architecture and pipelines for insights and KPI

  • Perform root cause analysis 

  • Assist with organizational change needs (e.g., training, communications, etc.) as part of roll-out and ongoing support of market data reporting tools and processes.

  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Analytics Leads

  • Ready to work closely with business partners across geographies

  • Work with data and analytics to strive for greater functionality in our data systems

 

You are an innovator -

 

  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc

  • Build and maintain efficient data pipeline architecture in cloud environment

 

Qualifications

What you’ll need…

  • Bachelor’s degree, Graduate degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field a plus

  • At least 2 years of professional experience working in Information Technology or Digital Marketing

  • Basic proficiency of data visualization techniques & tools - Experience with dashboarding tools (Google Data Studio, Tableau, DOMO, Sigma etc.) and programming languages (Python, Java, R etc.) desired

  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel / Google Sheet (i.e., standard functions – aggregation, pivots, look ups, etc.)

  • SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and find opportunities for improvement

  • High level of comfort with large sets of internal and external data and attend to detail s and penchant for accuracy

  • Experience supporting and working with multi-functional teams in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments and meet timelines

  • Strong oral & written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with third-party data i.e., syndicated market data, Point of Sales, etc.

  • Solid grasp of consumer packaged goods industry

  • Understanding of Colgate’s processes, and tools supporting analytics (for internal candidates)

  • Willingness and ability to experiment with new tools and techniques

  • Good facilitation and project management skills

  • Ability to maintain personal composure and thoughtfully handle difficult situations.

  • Experience with Data Flow, Data Pipeline and workflow management tools in cloud environments (GCP, AWS etc.)
