Job Purpose:
This role will be critical part of driving the ‘insights lead’ marketing culture
•    Sharpen our consumer, culture and category understanding- to improve marketing effectiveness
•    Actively seek and drive growth ideas/ insights


Job Context & Challenges:

Consumer insights role is transforming from ‘supporting’ marketing to ‘leading marketing’. We want to be the one who is showing the way rather than answering questions. But that requires conviction of data, ability to connect the dots as well as vision. That’s where we want to be and the candidate needs to demonstrate this.


Functional linkages :
Hierarchical and Functional linkages:  The position will report to the Head – Consumer Insights India. Our expectation is this person should be able to take his manager’s position in 2 years’ time. This position will require working closely with the India Marketing, Strategy Planning and Customer development mainly. 

External:  Agencies- conventional insights companies , new tech companies , analytics companies etc. 

Key Accountabilities :
1.    Own Insights for the set of brands assigned. Ensure that we don’t lost sight of the core insight and its embedded in all parts of IMC    •    Thorough understanding of the brand/ target consumer
•    Identifying and prioritising the insights requirements 
•    Mining existing databases (Nielsen, Panel, Tracking) whenever required (or vis 3P/ CBS) 
•    Designing relevant projects/ identifying right vendor and managing project timelines and delivery quality
2.    New Methodologies     

•    Look out for new approaches/ tech solutions for driving insights Quicker/ Cheaper- and with More Impact
•    Evangelise these approaches via appropriate validation to embed into CP process/ best practice
3.    Leverage Digital for in sighting    

•    Drive use of digital platforms/ social listening for insight generation for the category. 
4.    Lead the analytics agenda    

•    From dash boarding to modelling, this journey needs to be mapped and actioned. Experience in this area will be an edge.


1.    Essential: 
•    8 years of Agency experience .
•    Consumer Insights experience in marketing lead organisation/s (FMCG not mandatory) for 7 years
o    3-4 years in consumer product companies 
o    3 years in new tech companies 

2.    Desirable: 
-    Social media based research
-    Experience in integrating panel/ Nielsen and tracking into single point of view
3.   Minimum Years of Experience required: 13

Professional Qualifications & Training

Desirable: Graduate. MBA/ MSc Statistics will be preferred. 

•    Thorough understanding of communication development process and insights roles in different stages
