What role will you play as a member of the Colgate’s Information Technology team?

• The Information Security Engineer should be experienced in system architecture, design, engineering and deploying data security applications over hybrid environments that include on-premise and public clouds, such as GCP. 
• The candidate should be comfortable in playing a lead role towards the evolution of technology deployments across the global footprint. 
• An ideal candidate should be proficient in leading the engineering of endpoint solutions over Windows, Mac and Linux endpoints and on Virtual infrastructure.

Who are you…

You are a function expert -

This position is for an Individual contributor who would be responsible for the following

• A primary engineer developing and supporting our SOAR platform, including related work in our SIEM.
• Develop and build systems capable of monitoring security controls, policies and procedures and critical cyber security activities.
• Responsible for the design, deployment, and configuration of security solutions.
• Technical proficiency with a variety of vendor tools including collaborating with the vendor regarding issues and/or deficiencies when necessary.
• Act as a technology subject matter expert, able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across different audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and external vendors.
• Partner/connect with collaborators and other Global Information Technology and business functions to ensure their areas are following Global Information Security’s technical guidelines and strategy.
• Provide engineering support to the Security Operations Center for solving complex problems.

Working with operation team to build Splunk search and associated playbook in SOAR as per security use case

• Ability to think with a security mindset, building use cases from a security perspective.

What you’ll need…(Required)

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum 5 years of consistent track record in IT security industry
• Expertise in SOAR and SIEM
• 3+ years of experience scripting with Python in the general domain of IT systems
• Good understanding of cybersecurity technology, architecture, and best practices
• Modern networking knowledge and understanding (OSI, TCP/IP, switching, routing, firewalling, NAT, proxies, IDS/IPS, WAF's, CDN's, SSL/TLS, etc...)
• Basic understanding of general system and application architectures such as client/server, service oriented architecture, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, containers and serverless.

What you’ll need…(Preferred)

• 3+ years experience with automation using Python, Powershell, and BASH (or similar)
• Strong general system administration knowledge and skills in Windows and Linux operating systems
• Knowledge or experience with AWS or GCP core cloud services
• Experience developing automation in SOAR platforms

Key Proficiencies:

• The successful candidate must have a strong IT background with in-depth knowledge of common corporate IT infrastructures.
• Solid understanding of application architectures and strong security fundamentals.
• Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate and interact effectively with users that do not have a security background and be a security spokesperson throughout the organization.
