We are looking for Packaging Manager to join our ambitious team at our corporate office in Mumbai. As a Packaging Manager you will be responsible to lead a team of packaging professionals in India, supporting packaging & graphics development for Oral care & select Personal care packaging.


Job Context & Challenges:

You will lead packaging design & development for Oral care (both Toothpaste and Toothbrush) & select Personal Care category for Indian Subsidiary. Will work very closely with internal and external partners to identify, develop and deliver consumer relevant packaging solutions.

Also work closely with commercial, design and product development teams to identify new innovation from the very beginning and deliver them, following a proper developmental process.


Responsible for finding opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency working closely with plants and vendors. Leads development of new materials/ process/ technology etc. in the subsidiary. Also responsible for training / development plans and promotion recommendation for the team.


Functional linkages:

Internal: Design, Marketing, Procurement, Category manufacturing, Legal, Quality, Global Technology Centre, other packaging teams in the division & global.

External: Suppliers, Engineering / Design firms etc.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensures effective implementation of packaging bundles, in line with globally aligned packaging guidelines.
  • Guides and prioritises packaging team efforts in the design of packaging systems, component, ergonomics and equity aesthetics from the program brief through Engineering and Commercialisation.
  • Prepares resource allocation plans including staffing and funding needs for budget purposes.
  • Leads the conceptualisation, development and implementation of breakthrough innovation for emerging markets.
  • Develops, mentors, and leads a team of packaging engineers, by providing specific technical training, business/organisational understanding, coaching, feedback, and career counselling.




  • 10 + years of experience in packaging development in a FMCG company.
  • Good understanding of packaging material development, packaging machines, qualification testing etc.
  • Good spoken and written communication skill in English and local language
  • Experience in leading a team

Work experience in packaging development in personal care.


Professional Qualifications & Training:

Essential: Science/Engineering graduate.

Desirable: Diploma in Packaging, Certification in Package technology development or plastic Product development
