What is the purpose of this role?

 

As Manager Analytics, you will play a meaningful role in bridging the technical expertise of an in-house team of Data Scientists with the operational expertise of different functions like Sales, Marketing, Supply chain, Manufacturing, Finance & Risk, and other frontline managers. Particularly, you will demonstrate the consumer insight data, tools and analytics to identify and gather opportunities where Analytics can guide Business Leaders in data based strategic decision making.

As a techno-functional authority in Analytics, you will collaborate with the Data and Analytics CoE and Functional team members to support business strategy in areas like Go To Market (GTM) strategy, Revenue Growth Management (RGM), Media Mix Modelling (MMM) and Sales Excellence. What would be the responsibilities for this role?

 

  • Business Intelligence: Develop data tools /processes to provide insightful recommendations to commercial teams via extensive analysis across Price, Promotion, Assortment and Trade Terms; Generates market insights to support revenue strategy and other business pivotal initiatives.

 

  • Business Partnering - strong ability to work with Business team members to understand the business questions. Translating the business question to the Data Science team to work out scalable solutions and embed the results and findings into daily decision making

 

  • Delivery of Commercial/Financial Results
    • Data Based decision making: Drive approach and behavior change through education and continuous conversations.
    • Defining KPIs: Develop and supervise KPIs that are anchored to business strategies and must-win-battles by identifying areas of improvement via extensive analysis, e.g. distributions, rate of sales, profitability, ROI, relative price, customer/portfolio profitability
    • Supervising important metrics and generating insights: Deliver clear and actionable insights for Sales team to act on in short to mid-term to supervise and grow sales team’s efficiency and execution standard

  • Data Translation and business Storytelling - Leverage advanced analytics techniques to simplify sophisticated datasets into substantial insights, crafting compelling narratives that resonate with partners at all levels of the organization. Through adept business storytelling, optimally communicate the significance of data findings, empowering decision-makers to grasp key trends and opportunities, and drive pivotal initiatives forward with confidence and clarity.

 

What does the ideal candidate profile look like?

 

  • Bachelor degree holder
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in retail/FMCG/relevant industry, preferably in the area of Data Analytics, Data Translation, and data storytelling
  • Strong Technical Skills - proficient in R and Python
  • Analytical skills: MS Excel, strong numerical sense, quick in extracting insights from charts; BI/programming knowledge is a plus
