The Experience

In today’s multifaceted technology environment, it is an exciting time to be a part of the information technology team at Colgate. Our highly technical and innovative team is dedicated to driving growth for Colgate Palmolive in this constantly evolving landscape.

What role will you play as a member of the Colgate’s Team for this position?

The candidate is a domain authority and responsible for design, development and implementation of various applications in the area of large scale worldwide Colgate Promotional planning tool  Operation and provides support.

The person will be required to collaborate with business teams / functional teams and IT counterparts for daily support incidents and project activities in different business areas across all geographies.

The person should have the ability to understand the requirements related to business problems and transform that into a solution design.

 
Main Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop consumer-grade web applications using (Django is preferable)
• Write python programs & APIs
• Write object-oriented applications using python
• Translate user requirements/stories into the overall architecture and implementation of new systems
• Version control management using GITHUB
• Build and deploy using Docker with DevOps(Jenkins is preferable)
• Work closely with internal team and external partners to ensure new developments align with a roadmap and integrate seamlessly with other platform components
• Collaborate with project customers and the agile team to ensure all requirements are met
• Support ongoing development for existing projects/applications
• Find opportunities to demonstrate new technologies to improve applications.
• Document detailed specifications of configuration design, test and training programs
• Support day to day business requirements according to Global SLA
• Participate and give to special projects or initiatives such as institutional programs, committees, and others
• Deliver solutions to address business requirements considering priorities and resources available
• Applying conceptual knowledge of business processes and technology to address sophisticated business processes and procedural problems.

Who are you:

• You are a frontend developer
• Develop and modify user-facing features for web and mobile applications
• Support ongoing development for existing projects/applications
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
• Improve test coverage of existing code bases
• Collaborate with our lead digital designer and other product team members to translate abstract concepts into visually pleasing designs and bring them to life across our owned digital touchpoints
• Collaborate on & implement best-in-class UX/UI to optimize/improve our digital properties
• Work independently and handle various tasks at the same time in an Agile, team-based environment
• Work efficiently with 3rd party vendors and developers to create, develop, and maintain visually compelling web pages
• Keep current with emerging web design trends and technologies through relevant blogs, community forums, industry events, conferences, etc
• Participate in usability tests on interface design to insure cross-browser and device compatibility
• Drive best-practices and documentation in support of processes
• Operate with a good sense of purpose and be able to freely operate to bring new experiences to life

• Ensure the proper use of information technology project management methodology to comply of information technology governance practices
• Ensure proper documentation of processes, knowledge acquisitions and transfers
• Review program codes and suggest correction in case of any errors
• Conduct performance tuning to improve system performance over multiple business processes

• Interface, communicate and coordinate as a part of a collaborative, multi-functional team to meet business objectives and deadlines
• Collaborate with internal partners on online commerce requirements
• Give authority dev advice on how to best bring creative into our projects and make recommendations for improving our online presence as a whole

• Stay updated with the latest technological advancement. Adapt to these changes by self-training and research work
• Identify and explore new opportunities to bring to bear new technologies to enhance the Platform

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum years of work experience preferred: At least 3+ years experience designing and deploying end to end applications
• Minimum degree or equivalent experience requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or similar degree
• Minimum years of work experience (if applicable): 3 years
• Other work requirements: Shift hours and on call(on a project basis)

 
Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing front end web applications (HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, ReactJs/NextJs, NodeJs, DevOps)
• Experience of development using Test Driven Development
• Familiarity with open source cloud and application platforms, Google App Engine development experience
• Experience on sql database, and data modeling (MySql and Postgres)
• Solid understanding of FMCG business processes 
• Experience working on Agile/SCRUM Developments
• Full stack Python Developer having working from UI to Backend
• Experience with Python programming(Panda-DataFrame is preferable)
• Development experience working on Django framework
• Experience with relational database technologies and data modeling(preferably Postgres)
• Solid grasp of GIT source code control and branching methodologies, debugging, performance monitoring, benchmarking, logging, and testing tools
• Any certifications on frontend/backend development is a plus
