The Experience
As a Data Architect you understand the business we support and will be responsible to provide direction to a team of engineers to ensure data needs to meet business demands in sales and marketing. This position will establish data architecture principles, build models of data that enable the implementation of the business architecture, generate diagrams displaying keydata entities, and produce an inventory of the data needed to realize the architecture vision. Our teams work on the latest data technologies in the Cloud space including BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Snowflake, Apache Spark and more. This position will be focused on building out and leading the vision for our external and internal data in our modern cloud data platform.
What you will do
- Translate business needs into long-term architecture solutions in key data areas for syndicated, point of sale and indirect trade data
- Project manage key data projects for priority business areas
- Define, design, and build data models for use by the business
- Evaluate reusability of current data for additional analyses
- Review object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access
- Define how the data is stored, consumed, coordinated and led by different data entities and IT systems.
- Engage with the data management team in best practices for data sourcing, key data elements, data quality management and metadata.
- Engage with the data warehousing team in the migration to cloud warehousing
- Provide data initiatives, evaluations, and mentorship with projects in accordance to our corporate guidelines.
- Build expertise in diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.
- Design and build relational databases
- Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database
- Define, design, and build dimensional databases
- Develop data warehousing blueprints, evaluate hardware and software platforms, and integrate systems
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 5 years professional experience as a data analyst, data architect, data engineer, or related role developing conceptual, logical, and preliminary physical models for an enterprise
- Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, SQL or Cloud technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Database architecture and data warehousing experience
- Data management experience
