Brief introduction - Role Summary/Purpose:

  • To aid business growth by contributing in department goals by conducting flawless microbial tests as per CP standards and providing on time results and to contribute in innovation projects to create new and improved products and enhance speed to market

  • The GTC Microbiologist is responsible for conducting all appropriate micro testing and QA procedures to ensure that all new products in development meet the requirements of  Microbiological Control Standards.  Specifically, the GTC Microbiologist is responsible for assuring that the testing is done in conformance to CP standards and guidelines and for the documentation of all testing.  The GTC Microbiologist is also responsible for executing testing to support the claims for regional products. 

 

Responsibilities:

 1) Product Evaluation

  • Perform and ensure all testing for finished goods, raw materials and WIPs is performed accurately,  according to QMICs and results are provided within the stipulated time.

  • Provide microbiological support to Operations and Corporate Quality as required

  • Plan and carry out projects/ experimental work in order to make recommendations to the business

  • Execute tests to support the claims for regional products

  • Support specific EOHS, sustainability and Quality standards while ensuring full compliance to GMP practices while working in the lab on the projects

  • Perform microbial tests to verify and ensure GMP compliances  of pilot plant

  • Ensure maintenance and calibration of equipment

  • Participate in the development of new products and process changes

  • Provide technical expertise to  Regional  microbiology laboratories

2) Building Future Ready Agile Organization:

  • Should handle assigned business programs independently with minimum supervision 

  • Should manage  and provide need based guidance/support to assigned trainees/   scientist (s) on specific programs to meet multiple short term business and technical challenges

 

Required  Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Microbiology or any  related discipline

  • Minimum 1 year of Experience & Knowledge of microbiology within FMCG/Pharma/ Food Industry

  • Working knowledge of micro assessment of products
